7 SS/TREB/BAL/F ADER Selecting A uxiliar y Sour ce (Only f or CQ-5500U) Press and hold [MODE] (A UX) for more than 2 seconds to select A UX Input mode. Connect the auxiliary equipment (any other appropriate equipment) to A UX IN Connector. Canceling A UX Input mode Press [MODE] (A UX) to resume the previous mode.

17 BASS/TREB/BAL/F ADER BASS/TREB/BAL/F ADER T emperature Reading (Only f or CQ-5500U) T o read the temperatare outside the v ehicle, press and hold the knob [SEL] for more than 2 seconds. The current temperature in F ahrenheit appears on the display .

19 ❏ Required T ools Y ou'll need a scre wdr iv er , a 1.5 volt AA battery and the f ollowing: 12 V DC ELECTRICAL SIDE-CUT TEST BULB T APE PLIERS ❏ Dashboard Specifications ❏ Identify All Leads The first step in installation is to identify all the vehicle wires y ou'll use when hooking up your sound system.
20 A handy wa y to identify the speaker leads and the speaker the y connect with is to test the leads using a 1.5 volt AA battery as follo ws. Hold one lead against one pole of the battery and stroke the other lead across the other pole . Y ou will hear a scraping sound in a speak er if you are holding a speak er lead.
21 Battery Connect the yello w batter y lead to the correct radio wire or to the battery fuse por t on the fuse bloc k. Antenna Connect the antenna by plugging the antenna lead into the antenna receptacle. Equipment Connect any optional equipment such as amplifier , according to the instr uctions furnished with the equipment.

29 Caution f or use of a new Disc A new disc ma y have rough edges on its inner and outer perimeter . If a disc with rough edges is used, proper setting will not be possible and the CD pla yer will not play the disc. Theref ore, remove the rough edges in advance b y using a ball-point pen or pencil as shown on the right.
