2 ENGLISH How to reset your unit After detaching the control panel, press the reset button on the panel holder using a ball-point pen or similar tool. This will reset the built-in microcomputer . Note: Y our preset adjustments – suc h as pr eset channels or sound adjustments – will also be erased.

ENGLISH 5 Preparing the remote controller 2. Place the battery . Slide the batter y into the holder with the + side facing upw ards so that the battery is fixed in the holder . Lithium coin battery (product number: CR2025) 3. Return the battery holder .

8 ENGLISH RADIO OPERA TIONS Listening to the radio Y ou can use either automatic searching or manual searching to tune in to a par ticular station. Searching a station automatically: Auto search 1 Select the band (FM1 – 3, AM). * When “CLOCK” is set to “ON” (see page 28), the band indicator will soon change to the clock time .
9 ENGLISH Searching a station manually: Manual search 1 Select the band (FM1 – 3, AM). Note: This receiver has thr ee FM bands (FM1, FM2, FM3). Y ou can use any one of them to listen to an FM br oadcast. 2 Press and hold ¢ or 4 until “MANU” (manual) starts flashing on the displa y .

15 ENGLISH Prohibiting CD ejection Y ou can prohibit CD ejection and can lock a disc in the loading slot. While pressing CD CD–CH (A UX), press and hold for more than 2 seconds. “NO EJECT” flashes on the display f or about 5 seconds, and the disc is loc ked and cannot be ejected.
16 ENGLISH MP3 INTRODUCTION How are MP3 files recorded and played back? MP3 “ files (tracks) ” can be recorded in “ directories (folder s) ”—in PC ter minology . During recording, the files and directories can be arranged in a wa y similar to arranging files and directories/folders of computer data.

ENGLISH 35 EXTERNAL COMPONENT OPERA TIONS Playing an external component Y ou can connect two external components to this unit. Connect one to the CD changer jack on the rear using the Line Input Adaptor KS-U57 (not supplied), and the other to the A UX (auxiliary) input jack on the control panel.
36 ENGLISH Causes Disc is inser ted upside down. Y ou are dr iving on rough roads. Disc is scratched. Connections are incorrect. CD-R/CD-RW is not finaliz ed. The volume le vel is set to the minimum le vel. Connections are incorrect. No disc in the loading slot.
37 ENGLISH Causes No disc in the magazine. This unit is not connected to a CD changer correctly . MP3 files do not hav e the extension code—mp3 in their file names. MP3 files are not recorded in the format compliant with ISO 9660 Lev el 1, 2 or Joliet.
