POWER SOURCE 9 AC CONNECTION Use the AC polarized line cord for operation on AC power . Insert the AC plug into any convenient 120V 60Hz household outlet. NOTE: The AC plug supplied with the unit is polarized to help minimize the possibility of electric shock.
10 OPTIONAL CONNECTIONS PHONE (Headphones) JACK For private listening, plug headphones into this jack. The speakers will be disconnected when a plug is inserted into this jack. AUX IN JACK Insert one end of the audio cable (included) into the LINE OUT jack on your external audio unit and the other end into the AUX IN jack on the rear of this unit.
INSERTING AN iPod 11 Locate the correct Universal Dock to use as shown on page 21. Insert the Universal Dock (A) into the iPod compartment (B) (as shown), making sure the tabs are facing front, and slip the tabs into place. Press the rear side of the Universal Dock until it is positioned inside the iPod compartment.
OPERA TION 12 With an iPod connected (see previous page), if this unit is not already on, turn this unit on by pressing the ST ANDBY ON button 1 . If you are not already in iPod mode, select “iPod” by repeatedly pressing the iPod/AUX/AM/FM button 2 ; “iPod” will appear in the display .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 13 T o adjust the volume: Rotate the VOLUME control as desired to increase and/or decrease the volume. 1 ADJUSTING THE VOLUME.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 14 T urn this unit on by pressing the ST ANDBY ON button. 2 1 If you are not already in AM or FM mode, select “AM” or “FM” by repeatedly pressing the iPod/AUX/AM/FM button; “AM” or “FM” and the frequency will appear in the display .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 15 With the power of f, press the TIME SET button; the time will blink. 2 1 Press the TIME SET button (or wait approx. 10 seconds) and the time will be set.
16 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) With the power of f, press the ALARM SET button; the Alarm time will blink in the display . 1 Within 10 seconds, press the MINUTE/Skip/Search n button 1 and/or HOUR/Skip/Search o button 2 to set the alarm mode (iPod, Buzz[er] or Radio).
17 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) NOTES: • If set to iPod but an iPod is not connected, the unit will automatically switch to wake to Buzzer . • Make sure to set the desired volume as shown on page 13. • T O SHUT OFF THE ALARM, see T O SHUT THE ALARM OFF section on the next page.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 18 T o leave the alarm set for the next day , press the ST ANDBY ON button 1 or ALARM ON/OFF button 2 and the alarm will turn off but be set for the next day . 1 2 1 T O SHUT THE ALARM OFF While the alarm is sounding, press the SNOOZE button.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 19 While the unit is on, press the SLEEP button; “SLEEP” will appear and "120" will blink in the display which indicates the SLEEP feature is on and set for 120 minutes (the unit will turn off automatically after 120 minutes).

OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 21 iPod UNIVERSAL DOCKS Locate your iPod in the chart below and select the respective Universal Dock (the Universal Dock No. is engraved at the front of the Universal Docks as shown on the next page) to match with your iPod. Insert the corresponding Universal Dock and your iPod into the unit as described on page 1 1.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 22 IMPORT ANT! The Universal Dock No. is engraved at the front of the docks. Please refer to the illustration below for the location of the Universal Dock No. 2 NOTES: • The Third Generation iPod 10-15GB uses the same dock as the Fourth Generation iPod 20GB.
