The ScyT ek ASTRA is a combination vehicle securit y and remote starting system. With proper installation this system will provide superior protection and performance f or many years to come.
Standard Remote Transmitter Description The ASTRA/G55 comes equipped with the 5-button R emote T ransmit ters used to control system operations. Button 1 Arms the system and when held for 5 seconds, activ ates the system’ s P anic f eature. Button 1 also locks the doors when the system is in V alet Mode.
Adding/Replacing Transmitters T o replace lost or stolen tr ansmitters or to add additional transmit ters into the system, have all desired transmit ters ready and follow the steps below . Note : Up to 4 one-wa y transmitters can be progr ammed to operate the system.
Page 4 - ASTRA/G55 2-way LCD Remote Transmitter Description The Astra 4000RS-2W -1 is supplied one 2-way LCD remote transmitter , offering increased r ange and confirmation of any activ ated features. Button 1 Arms the system and when held for 5 seconds, activ ates the system’ s P anic f eature.
ASTRA/G55 - Page 5 LCD Transmitter Battery Replacement Y our Astr a Remote T r ansmitter uses a 1.5 volt AAA alkaline battery , which will require replacement in time. Depending on the amount of use, the battery may last up to three months bef ore it needs replacement.
Page 6 - ASTRA/G55 4. When the desired time is display ed, press Button 5 to store. · The r emote will pla y a melody to indicate the alarm clock has been set. T o disable the automatic start / auto activ ate function: 1. Press and hold Buttons 2 and 3 until the remote beeps four times.
ASTRA/G55 - Page 7 The PSV or passive function allows the passiv e arming mode to be enabled or with the transmit ter . Note: This feature may not be a vailable on all systems. T o enable or disable the passive arming mode: 1. Press and hold Button 5 until the display shows PSV .
Page 8 - ASTRA/G55 Remote Arming The system monitors 5 independent areas ( zones ) while armed: doors, hood, trunk, shock sensor , optional sensor input, and the network port for future expansion. T o Arm the S ystem: 1. T urn off the ignition. 2. Press Button 1.
ASTRA/G55 - Page 9 Tamper Alert If the system was triggered while awa y , the LED will flash to indicate which zone triggered the system after disarming and turning on the ignition.
Page 10 - ASTRA/G55 Panic Mode In the event of an emergency the tr ansmitter’s remote P anic feature can be used to instantly trigger the alarm. T o activ ate the Panic Mode: 1. Press and hold Button 1 for fiv e seconds. · The alarm will sound. · The parking lights will flash.
ASTRA/G55 - Page 11 T o set the Emergency Override Code: 1. T urn on ignition. 2. Within 5 seconds, press the valet switch 5 times. · The siren will provide one long chirp, indicating that y ou have entered Progr amming. 3. Press the valet switch 6 times.
Page 12 - ASTRA/G55 Remote Starting T o R emote Start the System: 1. Be sure the system is not in V alet Mode. 2. Press and hold Button 4 for three seconds. · The parking lights will flash 4 times and turn on. · The Siren will chirp 4 times. · The engine will start and run for the dur ation of its programmed Run Time.
ASTRA/G55 - Page 13 Automatic Start Mode The Automatic Start Mode allows the vehicle to automatically start the vehicle ev ery one or two hours and run for the preset Run Time. T o turn on Auto Starting: 1. T urn Ignition switch Off and w ait for 3 seconds.
Page 14 - ASTRA/G55 E x t e n d e d F e a t u r e s Ignition Door Locking F or added safety , the Ignition Door Locking f eature allows vehicles equipped with power door lock systems to automatically lock the doors when the ignition is turned on.

Page 16 - ASTRA/G55 Mounting the Control Unit The control unit must only be mounted in the interior of the vehicle. Do not mount the main unit in the engine compartment.
ASTRA/G55 - Page 17 S y s t e m W i r i n g 6-Wire Starter Harness Pin 1 RED - A : Main P ower Input A (+). Connect to the battery or constant power wire at the ignition switch with a minimum 30 Amp supply . R emo v e the f use until the installation is complete and all wiring is checked.
Page 18 - ASTRA/G55 Pin 13 GRAY : Auxiliary 1 Output (-) 500 mA. Connect to a relay for an optional f eature such as trunk release, etc. This output may be progr ammed for momentary , timed, or latched operation. Pin 14 GREEN/WHITE : Brak e Input (+).
ASTRA/G55 - Page 19 Jumper Selection Carefully separ ate the top and bottom halves of the main unit case. Once the cov er is removed, the parking light polarity jumper will be visible next to the parking light relay . Set the jumper f or the correct polarity output as described below , then reassemble the main unit case.
Page 20 - ASTRA/G55 Entering System Programming The system programming is compatible with both the L CD transmitter or the standard AM tr ansmitter . T o enter S ystem Programming: 1. T urn on ignition. 2. Within 5 seconds, press the valet switch 5 times.

Program to 3 seconds f or v ehicles equipped with v acuum door locking systems. 0.1 seconds for vehicles that roll windows up or down when lock/unlock output is at 1 second. 10. Passive Door Locking. Selects whether or not the system will automatically lock the doors during P assive Arming.
ASTRA/G55 - Page 23 RPM Learn. Start the engine, enter Br anch 21 and press Button 1 to learn the v ehicle’ s tach signal. The siren will chirp and the LED will flash once to confirm learning of the tach signal and entering T ach Monitor Mode.
