6 C603M-A (11/07) Description The NET5301T -I intelligent video encoder is a dual-purpose video encoding unit and video analytics pr ocessor . As a video encode r , it converts live analog video into dual MP EG-4 video streams. It can process up to 30 NTSC (25 P AL) images per second (ips) per stream at 4CIF r esolution .

C603M-A (11/07) 11 Equipment Placement and Rack Mounting Use one of the fo llowing installation metho ds for the NET5301T -I: • Place the NET5 301T -I on a flat surface, such as a shelf or desktop. • Mount the NE T5301T -I to a wall u sing the opt ional WM5001 -4U wall mount ki t.
12 C603M-A (11/07) W ALL MOUNTING Y ou can mount one NE T5301T -I to a wall using the option al WM5001-4U wall mount base kit. T o mount the NET5301T -I to a wall using the WM 5001-4U: 1. Install the WM5001-4U wall mount base k it; refer t o the WM5000 Series Wall Mount Kit Installation manual (C1616 M).
C603M-A (11/07) 13 RACK MOUNTING Any combination o f encoder , decoder , and transcod er units can be mounted together in th e optional RK5100PS-5U rack mount kit, u p to 12 units. Each unit p lugs directly into a power c onnector in the rack an d is powered by the rack.

C603M-A (11/07) 17 CONNECTING VIDEO INPUT The NET530 1T -I automaticall y detects th e video stan dard (PAL or NTSC) and accepts both color an d black-white analog video . T o co nnect vid eo input: 1. Connect a coaxial cable t o the camera or other analog video source.
18 C603M-A (11/07) CONNECTING AUDIO The NET5301T -I supports one audio input. The unit en codes audio and video signals simultaneously. This lets you listen t o activ ity in th e target area . The unit su pports bot h microphone an d line input levels.

The NET5301T -I supports seria l camera control using Pelco P or Pelco D (RS -422) for a PTZ device. Y ou can connect only one seri al PT Z device to a video encoder .

Each encod e r supports bot h normally open and normall y closed devic es. Each en coder also s upports both supervised a nd unsupervise d alarms.

C603M-A (11/07) 25 CONNECTING POWER The NET530 1T -I video encoder is designed t o operate f rom either a 12 VDC or a 24 V AC po wer supply . It automatically senses powe r type and polarity (DC). The NET530 1T -I can be power ed from many s ources: • NET5301PS po wer supply connects directly to the 4-pin connector on the NET530 1T -I rear panel.
