U sing Y our Hob 6 ● Use good quality flat-based cookware on all electric heat sources. ● Ensure pans hav e clean, dry bases before use . ● Ensure pans match size of heating area. ● Remember good quality pans retain heat well, so generally only a low or medium heat is necessary .

U sing Y our Hob 8 Deep F at Frying Safely 1. Use a deep pan, large enough to completely c over the appropriat e heating area. 2. Never fill the pan more than one third full of oil. 3. Never leav e oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooki ng period.

U sing Y our Hob 10 Use Connect the cooking hob to the mains electricit y supply by touching inside the area marked . The ‘Pow er On’ indicator light, to the right of the key , will light up . T o enable the control panel, press and hold for 3 seconds.
U sing Y our Hob T ouch the symbol corresponding to the chosen control zone , and the display will increase .... levels. Stop when the desired level is reached . NO TE: By pressing the key briefly , y ou can go directly to level and then back down t o level if you so wish.
12 U sing Y our Hob The temperatur e indicators will blink if : - An object (eg. saucepan/lid) is placed on the cooking zone for more than 10 seconds. - Any boiled o ver liquids or food ar e spilled onto the control z one. - Any extended pressure is plac ed on the control zone.
U sing Y our Hob 13 Cooking time programming Y ou can programme the cooking zones seperately or simultaneously and for different c ook ing times of up to 3 hours. Once you ha ve selected the heating power , programme the cooking time as follows: Y ou can programme all the cooking zones for different cooking times.
U sing Y our Hob 14 Do not leave a hotplat e turned on when you are not cooking as this makes it harder to clean the ceramic surface. T emperature cut-outs ar e built into the hob elements to protect them from over heating .
I switch the hob on and it switches off ❏ Y ou are tak ing more than 10 seconds to choose the cooking zone you wish to use. Make y our choice more quickly . ❏ Y ou have touched a selection symbol for too long (*) ❏ There is a receptacle or damp cloth on the c ontrol area.
Car e And Cleaning 16 T o reduce the amount of cleaning alwa ys ensure that the hob and cooking utensils are clean and dry before use. Regular use of cleaner conditioner is recommended f or proper care and protection of the hob surface. Apply conditioner before using the hob for the first time.
Installation 17 W ARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED SITING THE HOB All Hotpoint hobs are suitable for installa tion over an y Hotpoint Build-in or Build-Under Ovens. Y our hob should have been checked to ensure that the voltage corresponds with y our voltage supply .

Low er the hob into the worktop ensuring the mains lead is fed in to the base unit and is not trapped under the flanges.

Deformations due to improper fastening c ould alter the charac teristics of the hob and compromise its performance.
