INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing y our new Om niLT automati on system. You are a bout to expe rience a new feeli ng of comfort, conven ie nce, and c ontrol. Please take a few moments to become familiar with all of the feat ures of this fine product by revi ewing this m anual.
OVERALL DESCRIPTION Console Operation The console is designed with everyt hing that is necessary for y ou to program and operate your OmniLT control and security system. Because we feel that it is very important for y ou to feel com fortable with the operation of your Om niLT, we recommend that you start by becoming fami liar with your co nsole.
6- UP ARROW The Up Arrow ke y is used to scroll through menu s and lists. The Up Arrow is used to scroll back through a list ( for example, i f you have already used the down arrow to scroll to an ite m, the Up Arrow will bring you back to a previous item).
When using the arr ow k eys to scro ll thr ough lists o f units, zo n e s, bu tton s, codes, and temperatur e zones, on ly the n amed ite ms are displayed. If no text description ha s been given to an item, it will b e skipped over when scro lling through that list.
Confirmation Beep When you have successfu lly completed a function, such as entering a program or changin g a setup item, the con sole will beep once. Cancel If you are ever unsure a nd wish to ret urn to the top-level di splay, press the ' * ' key.
SECURITY SYSTEM OPERA TION Disarming the Security System and Silencing Alarms Before going any f urther, you should know how to disarm your security system in the ev ent that the alarm sound s. Turning the system OFF disarms the burglar alarm , resets the fire an d emergency ala rms, and silence s all sirens and sounders.
2 = NIGHT The NIGHT mode is used when you are asleep and everyon e in your household is at home. In the Night mode , your doors, windows, and non-sleep ing area (i.e. downstai rs) motion detectors are a rmed. In the Ni ght mode, there is n o entry delay.
Quick Arm For extra convenience, the Om niLT can be armed by simply pre ssing the DA Y, NIGHT, or AWA Y button twice, eliminatin g the need to enter the co d e.
What To Do When You Come Home Entry through a door: If you enter your ho me while the system is armed in th e Day or Away modes, using your normal entry do or : • Console beepe r comes on - display .
Fire Alarm Activated When the fire alarm is activated by the smoke/ fire detector(s), t he alarm responds exact ly as described u nder Burglar Alarm Activated, except: • The console display reads, "FIRE ALARM ! ZONE NAME TRIPPED".
Police Emergency When the 1 ke y and the 3 key s are pressed sim ultaneously, the P o lice Emergency alarm is activated . This alarm operates exactly the same as describe d for Burglar Alarm Activated except: • The console di splay indicates: "BURGLARY! - P OLICE EMERG TRIPPED".
Trouble Indications The OmniLT constantly monitors the alarm zon es and several inte rnal matters and will alert you if it detects trouble. The particular t rouble is indicated o n the bottom line of the display and a trouble si gnal is given by be eping the console bee per continuously , 2 beep s per sec ond.
Manager Code The Manager codes can arm /disarm the security system during a ssi gned times. The Manager code can access functi ons that are code protected in High Sec urity m ode.
CONTROL The control features of the OmniLT make it easy and convenient to control almost any li ght or applian ce from the console or o ve r the telephone.
When set to UPB, the OmniLT controller can: ¾ Send comm ands (on, off , bright, dim and level) t o individ ual switches a nd modules ¾ Receive commands and status from individual switches and m odul.
When “Status Tracking” is enabled (this is the default setting), OmniLT keeps track of the exact status of each unit even when a lighting scene is initiated b y the Room Controller. Room Contro llers also keep track of when individual switches in a room are turned on and off.
When set to RadioR A, th e OmniLT controller can: ¾ Send comm ands (on, off, a nd level) to in dividual Swit ches and Dim mers ¾ Receive status (on an d off) from individual Switches and Dimmers ¾ .
Scrolling Through Names The OmniLT s tores names fo r Units, Zones, Buttons, Cod es, Temperatures, a nd Messages so t hat you don't have to rem ember that "UNIT 5" is the "DEN LIGHT" and "ZONE 1" is the "FRONT DOOR".
Each lighting scene can also be set or easil y changed using t he pushbuttons on t he HAI UPB™ 6-B utton Room Controller, as follows: Step Operation 1 Press the desired pushbutton on the HAI UPB™ 6-Button Room Controller to activate the current scene (preset ligh tin g level) in each of the HLC devi ces.
¾ 5 (RMP) does not affect CentraLite units. ¾ Press 9 (TIM) t o time the selected unit (On or Off). Time d commands may be from 1-99 seconds, 1-99 m inutes or 1-18 hours.
Ramp Command (ALC) When ALC Switch Modules are be ing used, it is p ossib le to ramp the lig htin g lev el of an ALC Dimmer Switch to a new level at a selectable ramp rate. Only ALC Dimmer Switches respond to the Ramp command. Press the 5 (RAMP) key to select the ramp command.
The timed comm ands allow a units t o be turned on or off fo r a specified period of time. The unit ma y be turned On for 1-99 (minutes or seconds), or 1-18 hou rs, then Off; or turned Of f for 1-99 (m inutes or sec onds) or 1-18 hours, then On. Lighting uni ts (1-16) m ay also be dimme d or brightened fo r a specified period of t ime.
The OmniLT has 2 (ex pandable to 10) outputs that can be u sed to switch re lays. Outputs 1 an d 2 are controlled by unit num bers 27 and 28. These are har dwired output s that are connected di rectly through the OmniLT and not t hrough a modul e.
Leviton Scene Control OmniLT supports Leviton Scen e Control (a feature found in certain Leviton Switches. There are 16 Scenes th at can be set and executed. The Leviton Switc hes are divided into "lighting groups" of f our units each. Each of thes e lighting groups can be se t to four different Scenes.
Scene Off Command Once the Scenes ha ve been sent, press the 0 (OFF ) key to command the four units in that Scen e to turn off. Notes: 1. When sendi ng Scene Comm ands, the cont roller m ust be configured to all ow Extended Code transm issions.
Executing Phantom Buttons OmniLT can turn on and turn off each of the 17 possible Phantom Butt ons. Phantom Buttons must be pre-programmed into the RS-232 interf ace or Chronos.
Dinner for Two (Button 3): - dim the di ning and li ving room lights - turn on th e porch light - turn off all the bedroom lights - dim the den light - turn on the stereo To activate a p reprogrammed b utton, from the top-level display or fr om the ma in menu, press the 3 (BTTN) key on the console keypad.
After the ' # ' key is pressed, a menu approp riate for the type of temperature zone is shown. For Celsius tem peratures, press the ' # ' key prior to enterin g the temperature to m ake the number negative . The Celsius temperature m ay also be specified in 0.
Upstairs TEMP: 78 HEAT: 70 COOL: 78 ↓ Upstairs MODE: AUTO FAN: AUTO ↑ If hold mode is On, "HOLD" is shown: Upstairs HOLD MODE: AUTO FAN: AUTO ↑ For a heat or cool therm ostat, the status shows the current temp erature, the tem perature setpoint , whether hold m ode is on, the system mode, and the fa n on/auto selection.
To set up your thermostat for use with the energy sav er, set it in the appropriate mode and set the temperatur e to you r prefere nce . NOTE: Your heating and coo ling system will always be off if you set your thermostat to Off mode. The PESM cannot turn it back on.
IMPORTANT NOTES : ¾ There is a 3-m inute minim um on and off tim e for PESMs desig ned to prevent s hort cycli ng your HVAC com pressor. If the PESM has just turned the HVAC system on or off, it will wait 3 minutes before changing it, even though the disp lay does change.
Temperature Control of Appliances You can control app liances conn ected to X-10 an d ALC modules (such as a ceiling fan) using the Button feature of the OmniLT. For example, t he ceiling fan can be programme d to come on if the tem perature goes above the Hi gh temperature (a programming example to set this up is shown in the Programming section).
You may enter a unit n um ber to start displayin g the status of that unit, or simply press the d own arrow key to scroll through t he list of units. The status display is as s hown under Control, except that n ow the arro w keys may be used to continue scrolling between units.
Once completed, press t he ' # ' key to return to the Status disp lay and select your next unit (device). Put the nex t selected HLC device into Set up Mode ( See - Setup M ode for HLC Devi ces ) and then press th e ' # ' key twice to configure t he selected device.
3 = SUN (SUNRISE / SUNSET AUTOMATIC CALCULAT ION) The system automatically calculates the tim e of sunrise and sunset each day. From the status menu, press the 3 (SUN) key on th e console keypad to d .
The Temperature Status menu allows you to view and scr oll through the status of each Thermostat, PESM, and Temperature Sensor. To enter the Temperature menu, from the Status menu, press the 5 key on the console keypad.
For trouble restorations, the ev en t log will show the zone name or specific trouble cond itio n and "TRBL RST": 11:57 AM 5/8 BATTERY TRBL RST The system records each re mote access. A remote phone access is when someone calls into the system from an outsi de phone line.
Clear Message The 3 (CLEAR) key allows you to clear the selected text message, or all text m essages from the console's display. TRASH NIGHT ENTER MESSAGE 0=ALL ↓ You may enter the message number followed by the ' # ' key to clear that message, or simply press the down arrow key to scroll through a list of messages.
Pro-Link also has the capabil ity to monitor the serial port for incoming text m essages. When a text message is received, Pro-L ink searches through all 16 messages for a m atching message. If on e is found, the Progra m Comma nd (macro) correspondin g to the matching m essage is activate d.
TELEPHONE CONTROL Telephone Interface Your OmniLT is equipped with a built-in te lephone response feature that allows you to control and access the status of your system from any Touch-Tone phone. The OmniLT actual ly talks to you usin g a digital recordi ng of an actual hum an voice, so the sound i s incredibly li fe like.
Phone Access Denied - Remote Lockout The OmniLT has a rem ote lockout feature to discourage youngsters (and a dults who act that way) from trying to access your system. If four invalid codes are entered, the syste m will hang up and a one-hour lockout p eriod will begin.
When you are finished with th e voice menu, press the 9 (G ood -Bye) key. The OmniLT will say, "GOOD-BYE" and hang up. From an in-house phone, the dial to ne will return. From a re mote phone, you will hear a click as th e OmniLT hangs up. It is recommended that you press 9 to terminate a remote call.
Emergency Dial-Out Emergency dia l out consists of two distinct p arts: the "digital dialer" and the "voi ce dialer." Digital Dialer The digital dialer (also called a "d igital communicator") reports al arm events to a centr al station monitoring center.
If the number dialed is busy, or if all lines are busy, the dialer will immediately hang up and go to the nex t number in the Di al Order. The dialer will wait up to 45 seconds after it finishes dialing a complete p hone number for a voice to answer. If it d oesn't hear a voice in that time, it goes on to the next number.
SETUP The Setup m enu is used to confi gure operating parameters, program your system to do its automa ted control and security functions, and give descripti ons (names) for all of your zones, units, buttons, codes , temperatures, and m essages.
The times and days are changed by p ressing the ' # ' KEY. Choose th e 1 (TIME) key to ch ange the On or Off times. You will be prompted to enter the new time. AM/PM must be specified for th e time if the AM/PM format is being used, otherwise the entered time should be 13:00-23:59.
Each automation " program" is a single step in program ming autom ation in an Om niLT sy stem. Each program must specify when that program should execute and an action to be tak en. The program may also specify a condition that must be true for the program t o execute.
Otherwise, a help screen is displayed: Press # to delete or edit displayed program. ↓ The first progra m is displayed once the down arrow is pressed. Th e top line displays the ti me or button/ev ent that activates t he program and any condition that must be true for the program to activate.
Edit Programs The Edit Program menu is used to create an automation program . EDIT PROGRAM 1=WHEN 2=CMD 3=&COND • Selecting 1 (WHEN) is used to specify the time th at th e prog ram is activated or the macro butt on (event) that activates the program.
DATE: 10/15 MMDD ↓ =DAY Next, specify if the program will run once (on th e specified date and then be deleted) or if the program will run every year on the specified date (yearly). RUN PROGRAM 1=ONCE 2=YEARLY To change days, press the down arro w (DAY) key.
Press the 0 (O FF) key to select when the uni t turns off or p ress the 1 (ON) key to select when t he unit turns on (this program is executed whenever the unit is turned off or o n) .
When you specify that th e event button is ac tivated at the start of the delay by pressi ng the 1 (START EX IT) key, the m ode is prefixed by "A-" for "arming into".
Then s e lect the sp ecified command Off, On, o r S et. UPB Link Triggers When a program is created that uses “Wh en Link On” as the trigger, the pr ogram will execute when a “Link Activate”, .
"Off" events will be activated wh enever the selected device is turned off. "On" ev ents will be activated when ever the selected device is turned on. "Scene" events will be activated whenever the selected dev ice is set to the specified scene.
Pro-Link determines that a message has bee n received when: • One or more characters have been r eceived followe d by 100 ms of silence • One or more characters followed by a carriage return chara.
UNIT 1 LED 3 ON This program illuminates the “A” button (on a 6-Button Keypad) when the “A” button on that keypad controller is pressed. This program can also be used to illuminate th e “3 ” button (on an 8-Button Keyp ad) when the “3” button is pressed.
Program All On / All Off Commands Select the 4 (ALL) key t o program All Lights On and All Uni ts Off comm ands. It is also used to pr ogram Leviton Scenes, UPB Link, Radi oRA Phantom Button, or C entraLit e Scene.
UNIT: ENTER UNIT ↓ Enter the unit number followed by the ' # ' key, or use the arro w k eys to select the unit. The unit is displayed and th e display prompts for the state of the unit: IF.
NEVER Choose "NEVER" if you wish to temporaril y deactivate a program without deleting it. Other conditions include: • IF LIGHT • IF DARK • IF ENERGY LO • IF ENERGY MID • IF EN.
Remot e Comma nds The Remote Commands Ok item allows you to prev ent any commands from being issu ed f rom a remote telephone. If Remote Commands Ok is set to Yes, the OmniLT will allow all commands to be execu ted when called from a remote telephone.
Dial out number 1 has two times associated with it, an On a nd Off time. The OmniLT will only call this number if the time and days are bet ween the Dial Out 1 On and Dial Out 1 Off times and dates. Press # to chang e the On and Off times - See Set Up Codes .
Exit Delay The Exit Delay is the time, in second s, that you have to leave you r house when you t urn on the system . When armi ng the system in Day, Night, or Away modes, the system will wait this amount of time before arming. The default exit delay is 15 seco nds.
Set up Miscellaneous To configure Miscellaneous items in the system, from the Set Up menu, pr ess th e 6 (MISC) key. High Security Mode In High Sec urity Mode, the Master or Man ager code is always re.

TIME ZONE: 6 0-12 ↑ Daylight Savings OmniLT automatically calculates the day of daylight savi ngs time each year. It al so adjusts the "time of day" each time daylig ht savings tim e begins and ends.
To enter a nam e, enter the two di git code shown in Table 2 in th e Appendix for eac h character in the name, then press the ' # ' key. Use the up arrow key to delete th e most recently entered c haracter. ZONE 1: 00-95 ↓ ZONE 1: FRONT DOOR------ 00-95 ↑ =DEL ZONE 1: FRONT DOOR 00-95 ↓ User buttons (B uttons 1-16) m ay be named.
Set Up Address The final setup item is accomplished over th e telephone. This is the address that th e system says when it dials out in an emergency. Yo ur voice wil l be recorded on com puter chips i n the OmniLT control ler and saved t o be played back i n the emergency message when the syst em dials out for an alarm.
