Installation 6 311052E Installation V entilate Spra y Booth Configure Gun and Manif o ld The gun is supplie d with an internal fluid plug and seals (5, 6, 7). T o use the gun in a circulating system, remov e the internal plug. In a non-circulatin g system, leav e the plug in place to minimiz e flush time.
Installation 311052E 7 Install Air Fittings 1. Install the supplied 1/4 in. tube fitting int o the cylin- der (CYL) air port. 2. Install 3/8 in. tube fit tings into the atomization (A T OM) air port and the fan ( F AN) air por t. Gr ound System The f ollowing groundin g instr uctions are minimum requirements f or a system.
Installation 8 311052E Mount Gun Reciprocating Arm Rod Mount T o mount t he gun on a reciprocating ar m rod [0.5 i n. (13 mm) diameter maxim um]: 1. Inser t the mounti ng bar (A) through the hole in the manif old as shown in F IG . 3. 2. Secure the gun to t he bar by tightening the mount- ing screw (B).
Installation 311052E 9 Connect Air Line 1. Install an air/water separator an d an air line filter to ensure a clean, dry air supply to the gun. Dirt and moisture in the line can r uin the appear ance of your finished piece. 2. Install an air pressure regulator on e ach gun air sup- ply line.
Installation 10 311052E Connect Fluid Line 1. Install a fluid filter an d drain valv e(s) close to the pump's fluid outlet. 2. Install a fluid pressur e regulator to control fluid pres- sure to the gun. 3. Install a fluid shutoff v alv e to shut off the fluid supply to the gun.
Setup 311052E 11 Setup Flush Spra y Gun Bef ore running any paint through th e spra y gun: 1. Flush the g un with a solvent that is com patible with the fluid to be spr ay ed, using the low est possible fluid pressure and g rounded metal container . 2.
Operation 12 311052E Operation Pressure Relief Pr ocedure 1. T urn off the air and f luid supply to the gun. 2. Close the bl eed-type master air v alve (required in the system). 3. T r igger the gun into a g rounded metal wast e con- tainer to reliev e the fluid press ure.
Operation 311052E 13 Appl y Fluid The spra y gun has a b uilt-in lead and lag operat ion. When trig gered, the gun be gins emitting ai r bef o re the fluid is discharged. When the t r igger actuation air is stopped, the fluid stops bef ore the air flo w stops.
Maintenance 14 311052E Maintenance Daily Gun Care CA UTION Meth ylene chloride with formic or propionic acid is not recommended as a flu s hing or cleaning solv ent with this gun as it will damage aluminum and nylon compo- nents . CAUTION Solv ent left in gun air passages could result in a poor quality pain t finish.

Dip the end of a soft-bristle brush into a compatib le solv ent. Do not continuously soak the brush's bris- tles with solv ent and do not use a wire brush.
