15 Burner caps and heads Bur ner caps Lift off when cool. W ash burner caps in hot, soapy water and rinse with clean water . Y ou may scour with a plastic scouring pad to remove burned-on food particles. Bur ner heads The slits in the burner heads of your cooktop must be kept clean at all times for an even, unhampered flame.
Burner grates Cast-iron burner grates should be washed regularly and especially after spillovers. The grates can be cleaned in a dishwasher or wash them in hot, soapy water and rinse with clean water . Y ou may also use abrasive cleaners and steel wool pads to clean the burner grates.
