NX- 6 SYSTEM KEYPAD Includes models NX-108E, NX-116E, NX- 1 24 E POWER Light is “on” when AC power is present; flashes to indicate a low battery condition. READY Light is “on” when the system is ready to arm; flashes if ready to “force arm”.

4 GLOSSARY OF TERMS Abort Delay : An option that allows a delay in reporting to the central s tation. There is a communicator delay of 30 seconds . It can be removed, or increased up to 45 seconds at the opti on of the end user by c onsulting with the i nstaller.
5 UNDERSTANDING THE LIGHTS Armed Light The armed light is “on” when the system is armed. The armed li ght is “off” when it is disarmed. The armed lig ht will flash when there has been an alarm during the previous arm c ycle. Bypass Light The bypass light is “on” when any z one in this keypa d’s partition is bypas sed.
6 Ready Light The ready light is “on” when the system is ready to arm and “fl ashes” if ready to force arm. The ready light is off when the system is not ready to ar m because of a zone(s) being fault ed. Stay Light The stay light is “on” when the all i nterior (motion detector) zones are bypassed.
7 KEYPAD FUNCTIONS ARMING YOUR SYSTEM IN THE “AWAY” MODE AWAY is used when the user is away from the premi se and wants the interior protected. Listed belo w are the steps to arm in the AWAY Mode: Step 1 Clos e all protected doors and windows. • Ready light will be on or flashing when all protected z ones and sensors are secure.
8 Step 3 • Press the [ STAY ] key. • The stay light will illuminate ind icating that all interi or zones are bypassed. (All interior devices will bypass automatically, giving the user freedom of movement with in the interior area.) • The bypass light will illuminate if any zone(s) are bypass ed.
9 CANCEL / ABORT FEATURE (Optional, see page 1) The c ancel light will flash during a n abort delay time. If a code is entered followed by the [ CANCEL ] key while this light is flashing, all aborta ble reports will stop the communication pr ocess.
10 CHANGING USER CODES Step 1 Your system mus t be in the Disarmed state to chang e user codes. Step 2 Press [ r ]-[ 5 ]. Step 3 Enter a “Mast er Arm/Disarm Code”. NOTE: For partitioned systems, someone changing the code of another person must have access to all or more partitions than the user being changed.
11 LIGHT AUTHORITY LEVELS IF LIGHT 8 IS OFF 1 Reserved ( Note: Do not change if on.) 2 Arm Only 3 Arm Only After Closing Time 4 Master Arm/Disarm (can program other codes) 5 Arm/Disarm 6 Bypass Zones 7 Open / Close Reporting 8 If this light is on, this code is programmed as a function code.
12 OTHER KEYPAD FUNCTIONS SETTING THE KEYPAD TONE Step 1 Press [ r ]-[ 0 ]. Keypad is now in the “Adju st Tone” mode. Step 2 Press ing the [ 1 ] key will make the keypad sounder go to higher tones, pressing the [ 2 ] key will make the k eypad sounder go to lo wer tones.
13 Step 2 Each time a zone is fault ed, the zone light on the LED keypad will illuminate and the chim e will sound. The num ber of the faulted zone(s) will be dis played on the LCD keypad. It will al so be entered into alarm memory and th e internal log.
14 Step 2 Enter the “Ma ster Code “. Step 3 Enter the “hou r code” which must be two (2) digits. Not e: The clock is a 24-hour clock. Refer to the following table on page 14. Step 4 Enter the “mi nutes code” which must be t wo (2) digits. Example: 7 minutes aft er would be entered [ 0 ]–[ 7 ].
15 SERVICE MENU The service light will be “on” if the sec urity sys tem requires servic e. If the service light is “on”, press the [ r ] key follo wed by the [ 2 ] key to determine the s ervice condition. One or more zone l ights will illuminate in dicating what s ervice(s) is required.
16 EMERGENCY EVACUATION PLANS An emergency evacuation plan should be es tablished for an actual fire alarm condition. For e xample, the following steps are recommended by the National Fire Protection Association and c an be used as a guide in esta blishing an evacuation plan for y our building.
