GE Security g INTRODUCTION This manual is furnished to help you unders tand your security system and become proficient in its operation. All users of y our security system should read and follo w the instructions in this booklet and, if possible, practice on the key pad control while your professional installer is on site.
GE Security g GLOSSAR Y OF TERMS Abort Delay An option that allows a delay in reportin g to the central station. Authority Level The level of access an individual ha s when using an alarm pa nel. Central Station The location where alarm data is sent during a n alarm report .

GE Security g Power Light The power light is on if the prima ry power is on. The powe r light will flash if the system has a low battery condition. Ready Light The read y light is “on” when the system is rea dy to arm and “flashe s” if ready to force arm.
GE Security g Zone Light The zone lights are “off” when everything is norm al. A zone light will be “on” if the zone has been bypassed. If a zone light is “flashing”, that zone is in alarm or has been faul ted. If a zone light is “flashing” rapidly, it means that the zo ne is in a trouble condition.
GE Security g KEYP AD FUNCTIONS Arming your system in the “A W A Y” mode AWAY is used when the user i s away from the premise a nd want s the interior protected. Listed bel ow are the steps to arm in the AWAY Mode: Step 1 Close all protected doors and windows.
GE Security g Step 3 • Press the [ STAY ] key. • The bypass lig ht will illuminate indicating that all interior zones are by passed. (All interior devices will bypass autom atically, giving the user freedom of movement within the interior area.) • For each interior zone bypassed, the corresponding zone light will also illumi nate.
GE Security g CANCEL / ABORT feature (optional) The cancel light will flash during an ab o r t delay time. If a code is entered followed by the [ CANCEL ] key while this light is flashing, all abortable r eports will stop the communication process. NOTE: The a bort feature must be enabled .
GE Security g ADDING AND CHANGING USER CODES Your system must be Disarmed to add/cha nge user codes. Step 1 Press [ r ]-[ 5 ]. Step 2 Enter a “Master Arm/Disarm Code ”. NOTE: For partitioned systems, som eone changing the code of another person must have access to all or more partitions than the u ser being changed.
GE Security g ASSIGNING USER CODE AUTHORITY LEVELS Assign authority levels to users by following the step s below. Assig n use r codes before assign ing autho rity levels. Your system must be in the disarmed state to change u ser cod e authority levels.
GE Security g OTHER KEYP AD FUNCTIONS Setting the keyp ad tone Step 1 Press the [ r ] key. Step 2 Press the [0] key. Keypad is now in the “Adjust Tone” mode. Step 3 Pressing the [ 1 ] key will make the keypad sounder go to higher ton es, pressing the [ 2 ] key will make the keypad sounder go to lowe r tones.
GE Security g Detector reset function This function is used to reset Smoke Detectors and Zone Tro ubles. Your system must be Disarmed to use the Reset function. Step 1 Press [ r ]-[ 7 ]. Resets have now been pe rforme d. The FIRE light will go off if the smoke detectors have been reset.
GE Security g Setting the system date Step 1 Enter [ r ] [9][6] . Step 2 Enter [master code] . Step 3 Enter the “Day of Week “ 1 = Sunday 3 = Tuesday 5 = Thursday 7 = Saturday 2 = Monday 4 = Wednesday 6 = Friday Step 4 Enter the “Month Code”. Must always be two (2) digits.
