2 LifeBook A Series BIOS A Series BIOS BIOS SETUP UTILITY The BIOS Setup U tility is a program that sets up the operating en vironment for y our notebook. Y our BIOS is set at the factory for nor mal operating conditions, therefor e there is no need to set or change the BIOS environment to op erate your noteboo k.

4 LifeBook A Series BIOS MAIN MENU – SETTING STAN DARD SYSTEM PARAMETERS The Main M enu allows y o u to set or view the current system parameters. (See N avigat ing through the Setup Utility on pa ge 2 for more informat ion.
5 System Date: – — –— Sets and displays the current date. Date is in a month/day/ year numeric format with 2 di gits each for month and day and 4 digits for year . (MM/DD/YYYY) for example: 03/20/ 2006. Y ou may change each segment of the date sepa- rately .

7 Ultra DMA --- Ultra DMA-5 Displays the Ul tra DMA method for moving da ta to/from the Drive0 device. S.M.A.R.T . --- Supported Displays whether Self-Mon itoring Analysis Reporting T echnology is supported. (MSART is a hard drive feature; warns of problems before total failure) .

9 Exiting from Main Menu W hen you ha ve finished setting the parameters on this menu, y o u can either exit from the setup utility , or move to another menu. If y ou w ish to exit from the setup utility , pr ess the [Esc] key or use the cursor keys to go to the Exit menu.
10 LifeBook A Series BIOS ADVANCED MENU – SETTING DEVICE FEATURE CONTROLS The Ad vanced M enu allows y ou to: ■ Set the keyboar d and mouse features. ■ Select between the display panel and an e x ternal CR T or flat panel display . ■ Enable or disable compensation for your display .
11 Miscellaneous Configurations Opens the Miscellaneous Configurations submenu to allow you to enable or disable the power but- ton, Wa ke Up On LAN, control volume se ttings, and adjust UMA video memory size. Event Logging Opens the event logging submenu.

25 BOOT MENU – SELECTING TH E OPERATING SYSTEM SOURCE The Boot Men u is used to select the order in which the BIOS searc hes sources for the operating system. F ollow the instructions for N avigating Through the Setup Utility to make an y changes. (See N avigating through the Setup Utility on page 2 for mor e information.

Hard Di sk Drives Priority __ __ This menu allows selecting the priori ty with which the hard disk drives will be selected for Boot.

29 INFO MENU - DISPLAYS BA SIC SYSTEM INFORMATI ON The Info M enu is a display only screen that pro vides the configuration i nformation for y our notebook. The following table shows the names of the menu fields for the Info men u and the information displayed in those fields.

31 Discard Changes Selecting Discard Changes will load the previous values in BIOS memory for all menu fields. The message Load previous configuration now? [Yes] [No] will be displayed. When con- firmed the setup u tility will return to the Exit me nu.

Le informazioni sul Fujitsu A3110 ti aiuteranno sicuramente a prendere una decisione relativa all’acquisto.
In una situazione in cui hai già il Fujitsu A3110, ma non hai ancora letto il manuale d’uso, dovresti farlo per le ragioni sopra descritte. Saprai quindi se hai correttamente usato le funzioni disponibili, e se hai commesso errori che possono ridurre la durata di vita del Fujitsu A3110.
