Thank you for purchasing the ECO-45 pellet st ove. You are now prepar ed to burn wood in the most efficient, convenient way possible. To achieve the safest, most efficient and most enjoyable performance from your st ove, you must do three things : 1) Install it properly; 2) Operate it correctly; and 3) Maintain it regularly.
• Do not operate your stove if you smell smoke coming from it. Turn it off, monitor it, and call your dealer. • Keep foreign objects out of the hopper. • Never use gasoline, gasoline- type lantern fuel, kerosene, charcoal lighter fluid, or similar liquids to start or “freshen up” a fire in this stove.
INTRODUCTION -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- 2 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS -----------------------------------------------------------------------.
ECO-45 FREESTANDING PELLET STOVE Width: 27” Height: 30 1/2” Depth: 24 5” Weight: 230 lbs. Flue size: 3” or 4” Hopper Capacity: Up to 60 lbs. (This can vary widely depending on pellet size, length, and diameter) EPA status: exempt Burn rate: 1.
COMBUSTION AIR SUPPLY For a mobile home installation the stove must be connected to an outside source of combustion air. A 3” ins ide diameter metallic pipe, either flexible or rigid, may be atta ched to the inlet at the stove’s rear (refer to figures 4, 5 & 6).
Equivalent Vent Length (EVL) The longer the run of pipe in yo ur installation, the more restriction there is in the system. Therefore, larger diameter pipe should be used. • Use 4” pipe if you have more than 15 feet of Equivalent Vent Length (EVL).
A. VERTICALLY WITH NEW CHIMNEY SYSTEM (Refer to Figure 9 & 10 for basement installation) NOTE: Follow the vent manufacturer’s instructions. OPTION: To achieve a center vertical installation, a 45º elbow and a clean-out tee can be used to offset the pipe from the exhaust outlet to the rear center of the stove.
C. VERTICALLY INTO EXISTING M ASONRY FIREPLACE NOTE: Follow the vent manufacturer’s instructions. 1. Have the masonry chimney inspected by a qualified chimney sweep or installer to determine its structural condition. 2. You will need a pipe length equal to the chimney height from the hearth.
OPTIONAL LOG SET INSTALLATION To install the optional log set, you first need to rem ove the four screws indicated on figure 14a. Keep the screws. Locate t he two fixation brackets figure 14b that cam e with your owner’s manual. Fix the two brackets using the same scr ews y ou have removed.
PROPER FUEL THIS STOVE IS APPROVED FOR BURNING PELLETI ZED WOOD FUEL ONLY! Factory-approved pellets are those ¼” or 5/16” in diameter and not over 1” long. Longer or thicker pellets sometimes bridge the auger flights, which prevents proper pellet feed.
a. MODE SWITCH • When the mode switch is pressed, the stove will automatically ignite. If the manual mode is selected, the heat level must be selected manually to adjust the stove’s heat output to the desired level.
IF THE STOVE RUNS OUT OF PELLETS The fire goes out and the auger motor and blo wers will run unt il the stove cools down. This will take a few minutes.
OPERATING THE STOVE USING A THERMOST AT A thermostat may help you maintain a constant house temperature automatically. A millivolt thermostat or 24 Volt thermostat is required. A fixed wall mount or hand held mod el can be used. The control panel can be set up two ways to operate your stove in thermostatic mode.
OPERATING SAFETY PREC AUTIONS PLEASE READ THIS! a. If you notice a smolderin g fire (burnpot full but no visible flam e) AND a heavy smoke build up in firebox, immediately TURN OFF the stov e, but DO NOT unplug it. Do not open the door, cha nge the damper setting or tamper w ith any controls on th e stove.
FAILURE TO CLEAN AND MAINTAIN THIS UNIT AS INDICATED CAN RESULT IN POOR PERFORM ANCE AND SAFETY HAZARDS. NEVER CLEAN WHEN HOT. NOTE: Inspect burn p ot periodically to see that holes have not become plugged. If so, clean thoroughly. ASH REMOVAL Ashes should be placed in a metal c ontainer w ith a tight-fitting lid.
VACCUM USE If a vacuum is used to clean your stove, we suggest using a vacuum designed for ashes. Some regular vacuums and shop va cs leak ash into the room. Your vacuum or shop vac may have a special filter or bag available to eliminate this leakage.
CHIMNEY CLEANING a. Creosote Formation – When an y wood is burned slowly, it produces tar and other organic vapors, which combine with expelled moisture to form creosote. The creosote vapo rs condense in the rela tively cool chimney flue or a newly star ted fire or from a s low- burning fire.
When your stove acts out of the ordinary, the first reaction is to call for help. This guide may save time and mone y by enablin g you to solve simple problems yourself. Problems can be ca used by to only five factors: 1) poor fuel; 2) poor operation or maintenance; 3) po or installation; 4) component failure; 5) factory defect.

Turn the air supply knob toward the minimum setting for startup. In some situations, it may be necessary to have the damper completely closed for ignition to take place.
STOVE STOPS FEEDING PELLETS AND APPEARS ON THE CONTROL BOARD Possible Causes: Possible Remedies: 1. One of the two L-250 automatic high te mperature switches has been tripped. The L-250 automatic high temperature s witch is located on the auger housing and will send a signal to the control board if the auger housing overheats.
