2 Important: Read these instructions for use carefully so as to familiarize yourself with the appliance before co nnecting it to its gas container. Keep these instructions for future reference. Do not use the stove if it is damaged. Report the damage to your dealer, who will take the necessary corrective ac tion.
3 Unbox the stove and remove all packaging and protective wrapping. Adhesive residue may be c leaned off using benzine or alcohol and then rin sed with water. Please ensure that you disp ose of the packaging in a responsibl e manner. Plastic bags should be cut up to prevent chi ldren playing with them and accid entally suffocating.
4 GAS CONNECTION 4 GAS SUPPLY The stove has been designed t o operate on Liquid Petroleum Gas. Connecting hardware, gas bottles , regulators and hoses are not supplied wi th the stove.

7 LIGHTING THE BURNERS 6 Push the control knob in 1 2 3 Turn the co ntrol knob an ti-cloc kwise until gas flo w is detec ted Light the gas at the burner Adjust the fla me to s uit by turn ing the control knob to the d esired positi on 4 TO TURN THE GAS OFF, TURN THE CONTR OL KNOB TO T HE OFF ( 0 ) POSIT ION.
8 THE OVEN CONTROL The oven control may be set to any of five heat levels to suit cooking require- ments. See guide below if temperature l evels are not displayed o n the control panel. ROASTING Roasting takes place in t he lower part of the oven. It is recommended to pre-heat t he oven for about 10 minutes before plac ing a roast in the oven.
9 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE 10 GENERAL CLEANING For your safety wait until the stove has cooled down before clea ning. Use only liquid household cleaner s and avoid abrasive powders,sco uring pads and caustic cleaners. Never use vinegar or lemon juice to remove blemis hes.
10 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 1 1 1. From time to time check the condition of gas hoses, connections and the gas pressure regulator. 2. Do not attempt to repair the stove y ourself or allow an unqualified person to do s o. 3. Contact the nearest Defy Servic e Centre if service is required.
11 SERVICE CENTRES 13 Service Centres If you have followed the instructio ns and still have a problem, contact the nearest Defy Service Centre. Service Centres are located i n Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Eas t London, Johannesburg, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth and Pretoria.
