3 © 2006 directed electr onics system maintenance The system r equires no specific maintenance. Y our transmitter is pow- er ed by a pair of miniature 3V lithium batteries (CR2016) that will last appr oximately one year under normal use.

6 transmitter functions This system uses computer -based code lear ning to lear n the transmit- ter buttons. This makes it possible to assign any transmitter button to any system function. The transmitter initially comes pr ogrammed with standar d configuration, but may also be customized using the CliffNet W izard PC pr ogram.
7 © 2006 directed electr onics using your system The buttons used in the instructions in this manual corr espond to the standar d transmitter configuration. If your transmitter has been custom configur ed, the icons on your transmitter buttons may not correspond to the indicated functions.

In or der to disarm without a transmitter , you must have the vehicle’ s ignition key , know wher e the PlainView 2 V alet switch is located, and have the PIN code.

12 T o enter V alet Mode: 1. T ur n the ignition on. 2. Enter PIN code (factory setting is 2). 3. After the last digit continue to hold for thr ee seconds. The LED status indicator will light steadily if you ar e entering V alet Mode and will tur n of f if you are exiting V alet Mode.

While still holding , arm and disarm the system, then r elease the button. 3. The LED will start to blink to indicate the most r ecent trigger and pr oceed down to the eighth trigger .

17 © 2006 directed electr onics disarming diagnostics Extra disarm chirps ar e the T amper Alert. If three chirps ar e heard when disarming, the system was trigger ed in your absence. If three chirps ar e hear d, the LED status indicator will indicate which zone was involved (see the T able of Zones section).
18 anti-code grabbing (ACG) This unit featur es Anti-Code Grabbing (ACG) with Random Code Encryption. This means the r eceiver and transmitters each use a math- ematical formula called an algorithm to change their code each time the transmitter is used.

30 PIN Code Confirmation Pr ocedure Begin this pr ocedure within 15 seconds of finishing the pr ogramming sequence or the new code will not be set. 1. T ur n on the ignition. 2. It is also used to r eport triggers and faults in the system or sensors. Shoc k Sensor : This is a sensor mounted in the vehicle that is designed to pick up impacts to the vehicle.
