5 Cooking Zones F eatures The c eramic surface of the hob allows a fast transmission of heat in the vertical direction, from the heating elements underneath the ceramic glass t o the pans set on it. The heat does not spr ead in a horizontal direction, so that the glass stays “c ool” at only a few c entimeters from the c ooking plate.

7 Residual Heat Indicat ors When the temper ature of a cooking plate is above 65°C, the relevant H in the touch control display is also lit-up (with the cooking plate swit ched off) to w arn of heat on the surface of the hob.
8 Safety Hints – Befor e you switch the hob on, make sure you know whic h contr ol keys control the r equired cooking zone. W e advise you to set the pan over the cooking z one befor e switching it on. – Do not use pots and pans with rough bases (pay attention to cookwar e made of cast-iron).

1 1 P ow er Ignition and Adjustment o f a Cooking Zone T o turn ON a cooking zone the touc h control must be switc hed ON (see section “ How T o T urn the T ouc h Contr ol ON and OFF ”). Press the key and keep it pr essed until the desir ed power level, ranging betw een 1 and 9 is set.
1 2 Fast A utomatic Heating o f the Cooking Zones This function permits fast heating up at the maximum power level, followed by heating at the preset power level. The duration of the aut omatic fast heating up period is pr eset and depends on the selected power lev el.
1 3 Safety K ey -Loc k to Pr otect Childr en This function locks the touc h-control k eys against un wanted activation. T o activate the key-loc k press the key ; the indicator light above the key symbol will light up.
1 4 Pr ogr am for A utomatic Swit ching OFF o f One Cooking Zone This function permits to set a timer fr om 1 to 99 minutes for automatic turning OFF of one cooking zone only . Not e: It is not possible t o set this pr ogram f or both the cooking zones.
1 5 Oper ation Time Limit o f Cooking Zones Each cooking zone is automatically switched OFF after a maximum preset time if no oper ation is performed. The maximum preset time limit depends on the set power level, as illustrated in this sc hedule.
1 6 Err or Code on the Displa y/s If an err or message appears on the display/s (the displa y/s show/s " F " and another char acter alternating - e.g. " F " and " A ", " F " and " 0 ", ..... ) : 1 . Disconnect the cooktop from the mains.
1 7 Cleaning and Maintenanc e Cleaning the Cer amic Hob – Remove spillages and other types of incrust ations. – Dust or food particles can be r emoved with a damp cloth. – If you use a detergent, please make sure that it is not abrasive or scouring.
1 8 TIPS FOR INS T ALLA TION Installation CAUTION: This appliance shall only be serviced b y authorised personnel. – This appliance is to be installed only by an authorised person accor ding to the current local regulations and in observ ation of the manufacturer’s instructions.

20 Fast ening the Cookt op Each cooktop is supplied with a set of tabs and scr ews to fasten it on units with a w orking surface from 2 to 4 cm deep. The kit includes 4 tabs A and 4 self-thr eading screw s B (fig. 1 1). – Cut the unit. – T urn the hob upside down and rest the glass side on a cloth.
