Never put foreign bodies into the fax machine. Their accidental contact with powered par ts may cause a fire or electric shocks. Do not expose to direct sunlight. Do not stand your fax machine on carpets or other sur faces which generate fibr es, or place it in locations preventing free flow of air over its sur faces.
9 S etting up PaperJet 55 user guide – Edition 3 – 10.10.01 1 Plan the location of your PaperJet 55 Place your PaperJet 55 on a stable, flat sur face. Make sure it is close enough to the telephone and mains power sockets so that cables will reach.

29 Additional features PaperJet 55 user guide – Edition 3 – 10.10.01 T o set the print area of a document Y ou can set the print area of a r eceived fax to 70% 76%, 80% or 94% of the original. The recommended r eduction settings are: A4 = 94%, Letter = 80%, Legal = Of f (no reduction).

Before entering the number (pages 21-22), press External , an E will appear in the display , and continue entering the number as nor mal.

44 Maintenance PaperJet 55 user guide – Edition 3 – 10.10.01 Cleaning your PaperJet 55 First disconnect it from the mains power supply and the telephone line. Clean with a cloth dampened with diluted washing-up liquid. Never use household polish as this may damage your fax machine.
