En velopes Before Loading Flat ten enve l op es to release any remaining air . Loosen any sti corners of the envelopes , and at ten any curls, as shown in th e gure.

38 Pr int a Doc ument 1 Make su re that a computer and the machine are connected properly , and the printer driv er is installed on the computer . 2 Open a document from an application, and then open the Prin t window . 3 Select your printer driver , and clic k [P references ] ( or [Properties ]) .
39 Print 3 Click the [Basic Settings ] tab, and then specify the print ratio. Selec t the paper siz e of the document. T o autom atically scale the document t o t the loaded paper , selec t an output siz e. T o specif y the print ratio manua lly , selec t [ Manu al Scaling ], and then specif y the scaling ra tio.

47 Maintenance and Manage ment 4 Remov e any toner or paper debris from the in terior of the machine, with a sof t, dr y cloth that is clean and lint -free. 5 Insert the toner car tridge. 6 Close the toner c over , and then lower the scanning pla t form.
48 Cl eaning the Pla ten Glas s and F eeder If a scanned image h as unexpe cted speck s, clean the pla ten gl ass and feeder . Clean ing the Platen Glas s 1 T urn OFF the machine and di sconnec t all the cables from the machine. 2 Remov e any documents from the plat en glass.
49 Maintenance and Manage ment Ch eck and Repla ce T oner Ca r tridges T oner car tridges are c onsu mable product s. When the toner h as almost run out, a message appears in the d ispla y and streaks may appear on pri nted pages. Check the t oner level, and repl ace the tone r car tridge if necessary.
50 C onserving the T oner to Ex tend the Life of To n e r C a r t r i d g e s If you redi stribute the tone r , you may be able t o print for some time u ntil the t oner runs out. 1 Lif t the scanning platform, open the toner cov er , and then remov e the toner cartridge.
51 Maintenance and Manage ment 1 Open the operation panel and the toner c over , and then remove the toner cartridge. 2 Prepare a new t oner car tridge. • St ore the prot ec tive bag. It is r equired when you r emove the t oner car tridge for prin ter main tena nce or other pu rp oses.
