Run the requir ed cable length to your Ultimate 106. Attach the cable fir mly to the wall. Thread the plastic wir e grip through the socket (as shown above). The telephone extension cable contains 4 strands of wire, 2 with br oad orange, or blue stripes, 2 with nar row orange or blue stripes.
Only 2 wires ar e connected to ter minals 2 and 5. Leave the 2 wires that ar e not used coiled up neatly in the back of the socket for future use. Pull the plastic wire grip tight, trapping the wir e. Finally , fit the front plate onto the backbox with the screws pr ovided.
Connect the 3-pin plug into the mains socket and switch the power on. The POWER light comes on. Remove the lower cover . Set the programme switch to PROGRAM . Remember to switch of f the pr ogramme switch when you have finished changing system settings, other wise you will not be able to receive or make any calls when in Program mode. Callers will still hear the usual ringing tone.
Time and date settings Y our Ultimate 106 automatically adds the time and date received to each voice mail message. When you subscribe to BT’s Caller Identification ser vice, the time and date is automatically set with the first call you receive. It is then updated each time a call is received.
Extension ring delay Y ou can set your Ultimate 106 to delay ringing cer tain extensions when a call comes in. For example, if you want extension 11 to ring before any others, then you need to put a delay on all the other extensions. From your master phone, extension 11: In program mode.

Y our Ultimate 106 can be set to call you back when an engaged extension or exter nal line you have dialled becomes free again.
Using the speed dial memory Up to 50 names and numbers may be stored in the system. 6 Enter this code. The voice announces “Recor d name” . Speak the name to go with the number into the handset.
