SETUP BROTHER MACHINE WITH PC 2 - 1 2 2 Using Br other Machine with Y our PC Multi-Function Link ® Pro software (MFL Pro) turns your Brother machine into a multi-function center , by enabling you to use your fax machine as a printer and a scanner and to use it to fax from W indows ® applications in your computer .
SETUP BROTHER MACHINE WITH PC 2 - 2 Computer Requirements The following are the minimum computer requirements you need to set up and operate the MFC as a printer . CPU 80486/66MHz or higher (W indows ® 3.1 x or 95/98) Pentium 75 or Higher (W indows ® 98 or W indows NT ® W orkstation V ersion 4.

USING MUL TI-FUNCTION LINK ® PRO 4 - 2 Multi-Function Link ® Pr o Main Menu The Multi-Function Link ® Pro Main Menu is the application used for all fax sending and receiving operations. It also contains an electronic Phone Book program and a Log Manager that maintains a record of all PC fax transactions.
USING MUL TI-FUNCTION LINK ® PRO 4 - 3 MFC Remote Setup The MFC Remote Setup application allows you to quickly set up your MFC by taking advantage of the ease and speed of programming on your PC. When you access this application, the settings on your MFC will be downloaded automatically to your PC and displayed on your computer screen.
USING MUL TI-FUNCTION LINK ® PRO 4 - 4 Sending a F ax fr om Y our PC Sending a Quick F ax A QuickFax is a cover page only fax with a message. This option is very useful when you want to fax a quick, short message from your PC. 1 From the Main Menu, select the QuickFax button —OR— Select QuickFax from the Start pull-down menu.
