Settin g Up th e M achine 5 STEP 1 1 1 Removing the protecti ve part s 1 Remove t he prote c t ive tape a nd fil m covering the scanner glass. 2 Remove the foam bag (1) containing the ink cartridges from on top of the paper tray. Im prop er Set up DO NOT conn ect the inter face cable.
Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 6 STE P 1 3 Fan the stack of paper well to avoid pape r j a ms and misfeeds. 4 Gently p ut the p aper into the paper tray print side down and top edg e first.
Setti ng Up the Ma chin e 7 8 While holding the paper tray in place, pull out the pap er suppo r t unt il it cli c k s, and then unfold the paper s upport fl a p .
Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 8 STE P 1 5 Inst alling the ink ca rtridge s Warni ng If ink g ets in your eyes, wash them out w it h water at once, and if irrit a tion occurs consult a doctor. 1 Make sure that the power i s turned on. The LCD shows: 2 Open t he ink c artridge cov er (1).
Setti ng Up the Ma chin e 9 6 Install each i nk cartridge in th e direction of the arrow on t he label . Take care to match t he col ou r of the lock release lever ( 1 ) with t he cartr i dge colour (2), as shown in t he diagram below. 7 Lift each lock rele ase lever and ge ntly push it until i t clicks, and then close the ink c a rtridge co ve r.
