5 Chapter 2 Installation 2.1 Before Installing Make sure that you have all you need to in stall the mini USB ISDN TA 128. You should ha ve the following: 1. A PC that has USB connecto r and its USB controller is working pr operly as shown below. 2. Micros oft Windows 98, Me, 2000 or XP.
Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 6 2.2 The Front Panel LEDs LED Meaning USB When this LED is lit, it i ndicates that the USB port is connected to the PC and working properly. ISDN When this LED is lit, it indicates that the ISDN S 0 bus is activated. It will flash when there is message transfer in the D channel.

Then, click “ Finish ” in the following window. 4. If you are pr ompted to restar t the computer af ter Windows finishes installing th e drivers, press “ Y es ”.

When the following windows titled “ Digital Si gnature Not Found ” appear, press “ Yes ” to continue the installation.

Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 18 2.5 ISDN Utility Installation The ISDN Utility includes helpf u l programs for the Billion mini USB ISDN TA128, s uch as diagno stic program, uninstallation program, a nd on-line manual. After Windows installs the driv er of your Billion mini USB ISDN TA128, the ISDN Utility may be installed automatically.
Chapter 2 Installation 19 3. When the following window prompts, click on the “ISDN Utility” button. 4. The Install Shield Wizard will load the ISDN utility installation progr am. 5. Press “ N ext> ” to begin installi ng the ISDN Utility. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 20 2.5.1 The Diagnos tic Pr ogram After you have install ed yo ur Billion mini US B ISDN TA12 8 , you are highly recommended to use the diagnostic pro gram to make sure the Billion mini US B ISDN TA128, its drivers and the ISDN line are all properly in stalled and connected.
Chapter 2 Installation 21 2.5.2 The ISDN STATUS Program To know the status of ISDN li ne and B channels, you can start the ISDN STATUS progra m as below: 1. Open the “ P rograms ” f older on the “ Start ” menu and click on the “ ISDN Utility ” program folder.
Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 22 1. Double click on the “ My Comp uter ” icon on your Windows Desktop, a nd then double click on the “ Dial-Up Networking ” (DUN) folder. 2. The DUN folder displays an icon labeled “ Make New Connection ”, plus ic ons for each of the connections that you have alrea dy created.
Chapter 2 Installation 23 4. Select the “ Multilink ” tab an d click on the “ U se additional device s ” radio button. 5. Press “ Ad d… ” to specify the device to be bundled toget her to form the multilink connection.
Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 24 6. Use the “ Ad d… ”, “ R emove ”, and “ E dit ” buttons to change the list of additional devices. 7. You may enter a different phon e number for each device, and the phone numbers will be stor ed.

As you highli ght a device in the lis t box, a “ S uspend ” or “ R esume ” button is displayed.

27 Chapter 3 Troubleshooting If your Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 does not work properl y, run the Diag nostic Progr am to help you ide ntify the probl em. Error Indication Possible Cause Remedy 1. The mini USB ISDN TA128 is not ready. 1. Make sure the USB cable is securely connected to PC or self-powered USB hub device.
