5 Chapter 2 Installation 2.1 Before Installing Make sure that you have all you need to in stall the mini USB ISDN TA128. Y ou should have the f ollowing: 1. A PC that has USB connecto r and its USB controller is working pr operly as show n below. 2. Micr osoft Window s 98, Me, 2000 or X P.
Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 6 2.2 The Front Panel LEDs LED Meaning USB When this LED is lit, it i ndicates that the USB port is connected to the PC and working properly. ISDN When this LED is lit, it indicates that the ISDN S 0 bus is activated. It will flash when there is message transfer in the D channel.

When the following windows titled “ Digital Si gnature Not Found ” appear, press “ Yes ” to continue the installation.

Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 18 2.5 ISDN Utility Installation The ISDN Utility includes helpf u l programs for the Billion mini USB ISDN TA128, s uch as diagno stic pr ogram, uninstallation program, and on-line manual. After Windows installs the driv er of your Billion mini USB ISDN TA128, the ISDN Utility may be installed automatically.
Chapter 2 Installation 19 3. When the following window prompts, click on the “ISDN Utility” button. 4. The Install Shield Wizard will load the ISDN utility installation pr ogram. 5. Press “ N ext> ” to begin installi ng the ISDN Utility. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 20 2.5.1 The Diagnos tic Pr ogram After you h ave insta lled yo ur Billion mini US B ISDN TA12 8 , you are highly recommended to use the dia gnostic program to make sure the Billion mini US B ISDN TA128, its driver s and the ISDN line are all properly in stalled and connected.
Chapter 2 Installation 21 2.5.2 The ISDN STATUS Program To know the sta tus of ISDN li ne and B cha nnels, you can start the ISDN STATUS progra m as below: 1. Open the “ P rograms ” f older on the “ Start ” menu and click on the “ ISDN Utility ” program folder.
Billion mini USB ISDN TA128 22 1. Double click on the “ My Comp uter ” icon on your Windows Desktop, a nd then double clic k on the “ Dial-Up Networking ” (DUN) folder. 2. The DUN folder displays an icon labeled “ Make New Connection ”, plus ic ons for each of the connections that you have alrea dy created.
Chapter 2 Installation 23 4. Select the “ Multilink ” tab an d click on t he “ U s e additional device s ” radio button. 5. Press “ Ad d… ” to specify the device to be bundle d togethe r to form the multilink connection.
