IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Convection microwave ovens have been used successfully in homes for a number of years. They are thoroughly tested for safe and efficient operation.
Using your convection microwave oven Convection microwave oven controls There are three parts in the control section: When you first plug in the oven, a tone sounds and -The Digital Display/Clock and Indicator Lights.
Programming tone Each time you touch a pad you will hear a tone. If you don’t hear a tone, it is because the instruction is not correct, or because the tones have been removed. EXAMPLE: If you touch a Number Pad before you touch a Command Pad, you will not hear a tone.
Using the minute timer The Minute Timer does not start or stop cooking. It can be used alone or while the oven is operating. It works like a kitchen timer. You can set it for up to 99 minutes, 99 seconds. DO THIS... THIS HAPPENS... 1. Touch MINUTE TIMER.

SLOW COOK The AUTO SENSOR Slow Cook (number 0) setting is similar to a slow cooker. The oven will automatically cook, simmer and keep food warm at different preset cook powers for a minimum of 2-4 hours or a maximum of 12 hours (including Keep Warm).
Microwave cooking at high cook power DO THIS... THIS HAPPENS... 1. Put food in the oven and close the door. 2. Touch COOK. 3. Touch Number Pads for the cooking time you want. The COCK Indicator Light will come on and the Display will show four 0’s. The Display will show the numbers you touched in the order you touched them.
Microwave cooking at lower cook powers For best results, some recipes call for lower Cook Powers. The lower the Cook Power, the slower the cooking. Each Number Pad also stands for a different percentage of Cook Power. Many recipes in your CONVECTION MICRO MENUS” Cookbook tell you, by number, which Cook Power to use.
6. Touch START. cl count 0Wl-l The COOK and COOK POWER Indicator Lights will stay on to show that the oven is cooking in the first cycle at a Cook Power other than high. The Display counts down the time to show how much cooking time is left. When the cooking time ends, “End” will show on the Display and 4 beeps will sound.
3. Touch Number Pads for the defrosting time you want. PAUSE may be set to stop the oven halfway through QUICK DEFROST to allow you to turn over and/or rotate the food. See “Using PAUSE” on page 19. m 4. Touch START. The QUICK DEFROST Indicator Light will stay on to show that the oven is in the Quick Defrost cycle.
The Display will show the numbers you touched in the order you touched them. This example shows 3 minutes, 25 seconds. 5. Touch Number Pads for the Cooking time you want. The COOK POWER Indicator Light will come on and the Display will show “P-HI!’ This shows the oven is prepro- grammed to cook at full power (HIGH).
When the Cook cycle ends, “End” will show on the Display and 4 beeps will sound. (You can stop the beeping by opening the door or by touching CAN- CEL.) “End” will remain on the Display and a beep will sound every 60 sec- onds (to remind you that food is left in the oven) until the door is opened or CANCEL is touched.
Cooking with the TEMPERATURE PROBE The Temperature Probe helps take guesswork out of cooking roasts and larger casseroles, The probe is designed to turn off the oven when it senses the temperature you chose. The Temperature Probe can also be used in BAKE TIME (page 26) or ROAST TIME (page 30) to cook by temperature ratherthan time.
8. Touch START. The Display will show ‘COOL” to show the food is less than 90°F. As the food cooks, the Display will show the internal temperature of the food for every 5°F increase. When the probe senses the tempera- ture you selected, the oven shuts off.

Using PAUSE with AUTO SENSOR Pause may be used to stop the oven when it advances from the automatic portion of the cycle to the timed portion. 1. Put food in the oven and close the door. 2. Touch AUTO SENSOR. 3. Touch a Number Pad for the cooking category you want.
Using Hot, cooked foods can be safely kept warm in your convection microwave oven for up to 99 minutes, 99 seconds (about 1 hour, 40 minutes). KEEP WARM can be used by itself, or it can automatically follow a cooking cycle, PROBE TEMP or AUTO SENSOR cycle.
Using AUTO START The oven can be set to start automatically at a later time. Use AUTO START to delay the start of cooking for up to 11 hours, 59 minutes. DO THIS... THIS HAPPENS... 1. Make sure the Clock is set to correct time of day. See page 6 if any change is needed.
7. Touch COOK POWER. (Option: Skip to step 9 if you want to use high power.) 8. Touch a Number Pad for the Cook Power you want. 9. Touch START. The COOK POWER Indicator Light will come on and the Display will show “P-HI!’ This shows the oven is pre- programmed to cook at full (HIGH) power.
Additional information l Additional cycles can be set when using AUTO START. Follow instructions under the proper heading (Using AUTO SENSOR, Defrosting, Using KEEP WARM, Convection Cooking, Combination Cooking] either before or after you touch START.
Convection cooking Convection cooking circulates hot air through the oven cavity with a fan. The constantly moving air surrounds the food to heat the outer portion quickly. This seals in moisture and juices for more flavorful foods. This oven uses convection cooking whenever BAKE TIME, BROIL TIME, ROAST TIME or AUTO TEMP are programmed.

When the oven temperature reaches 450°F the oven beeps twice and the PREHEAT Indicator Light goes off. “45OF” will stay on the Display and the oven will hold that temperature up to 30 minutes, or until the food has been placed in the oven and START has been touched.
Combination cooking Combination cooking alternates convection hot air cooking with microwave energy cooking. This type of cooking is generally used for roasts and large cuts of meats.
Using the Temperature Probe with ROAST TIME/COMBO 1. Insert the temperature probe into the food. (See page17.) 2. Place food in the oven and plug the probe into the socket on the oven ceiling. Close the door. (See page 17.) 3. Touch PROBE TEMP 4. Touch Number Pads forthe desired final temperature.
Using AUTO TEMPICOMBO AUTO TEMPXOMBO provides a short-cut method for setting commonly used convection microwave combination probe temperature settings. This cycle includes preset cooking temperatures and micro- wave cook power settings, plus nine preset probe temperature settings (IIO’F-190°F).

Bi-level cooking The metal oven rack is designed for use in this convection microwave oven. The round baking sheet is also designed for use in this oven, but should be used for convection cooking only. For convection bi-level baking of cakes, cookies, etc.
