3 1. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions. 2. Before beginning any exercise program, consult your physician. This is especially important for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems.
4 20. The heart rate monitor is not a medical device. V arious factors, including the user’s movement, may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings. The heart rate monitor is intended only as an exercise aid in determin- ing heart rate trends in general.
5 Thank you for selecting the new WESLO ® CADENCE R 7.2 treadmill. The CADENCE R 7.2 treadmill offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts at home more effective. And when you’re not exercis- ing, the unique treadmill can be folded up, requiring less than half the oor space of other treadmills.
6 To hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove the packing materials; do not dis pose of the packing materials until assembly is completed.
7 3. Attach a Wheel (84) to one side of the Base (85) with a 3/8" x 2 1/4" Bolt (8), two Wheel Spacers (83), and a 3/8" Nut (13) as shown. Do not over- tighten the Bolt; the Wheel should turn freely . Attach the other Wheel (84) in the same way .
8 5. See the left inset drawing. Identify the two Frame Spacers (79). Open the included packet of grease, and apply grease to both sides of both Frame Spacers.
9 7. Have a second person hold the console assem- bly near the Right Upright (78). Connect the wire harness on the console assem- bly to the Upright Wire (74) as shown in the inset drawing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place.
10 70 9. Set the Left Handrail (69) and the Right Handrail (71) on a level surface. Attach the Handrails (69, 71) to the Handrail Bracket (70) with four 1/4" x 1 1/2" Bolts (3) and four 1/4" Nuts (4). See the lower drawing. Make sure that the Nuts sit inside the indi- cated square holes in the Handrails.
11 1 1. Hold the handrail assembly near the console assembly . Connect the wire harness extending from the handrail assembly to the wire har- ness extending from the console assembly . See the inset drawing in step 7. The conn ector s should slide together easily and snap into place.
12 16. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Note: Extra parts may be included. Keep the included hex keys in a secure place; one of the hex keys is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 21). To protect the oor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
13 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT HOW TO CONNECT THE POWER CORD Use a Surge Suppressor Y our treadmill, like other electronic equipment, can be damaged by sudden voltage changes in your home’s power . V oltage surges, spikes, and noise interfer- ence can result from weather conditions or from other appliances being turned on or off.
14 ETGG39608 (GGTL39608) FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more effective. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
15 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
16 4. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To change the incline of the treadmill, press the Incline increase and decrease buttons or one of the numbered Quick Incline buttons. Each time you press one of the Incline buttons, the incline will gradually adjust to the selected incline setting.
17 HOW TO USE A PRESET APPLICATION 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 15. 2. Select a preset application. To select a preset ap- plication, press the Apps button repeatedly until the number of the desired application ap- pears in the display.
18 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps track of treadmill usage information and allows you to select a unit of measurement for the console. You can also turn on and turn off the display demo mode. To select the information mode, insert the key into the console while holding down the Stop button.
19 HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL To avoid damaging the treadmill, a djust the incline to the lowest position before you fold the treadmill. Then, remove the key and unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
20 Most treadmill problems can be solved by follow- ing the simple steps below . Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assis- tance is needed, see the front cover of this manual.
21 SYMPTOM: The walking belt slows when walked on a. Use only a surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 13. b. If the walking belt is overtightened, treadmill per- formance may decrease and the walking belt may become damaged.
22 EXERCISE GUIDELINES These guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program. For detailed exercise information, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician. Remember , proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results.
