3 1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 2 0. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug the power cord, and press the power switch into the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the lo- cation of the power switch.

6 ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispos e of the pa ckin g mate rial s unti l asse mbly i s comp lete d.
7 3. Identify the Left Upright (89), which is marked with a “Left” sticker or an “L” sticker. Have a sec- ond person hold the Left Upright near the Base (94). Se e th e in se t dr aw in g. Tie the wire tie in the Left Upright (89) securely around the end of the Upright Wire (81).
8 5. Identify the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83). Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright (89). Slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright (90). Do not press the Base Covers into place yet. Identify the Left Upright Cover (79) and the Right Upright Cover (80).
9 7. Attach the Left Handrail (88) to the Left Upright (89) with two 5/16" x 1" Bolts (5), two 5/16" Star Washers (11), and a 5/16" x 1 1/4" Bolt (4). Do not fully tighten the Bolts yet. Attach the Right Handrail (87) in the same way.
10 10. With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the Left Handrail (88). Connect the Upright Wire (81) to the console wire. See the inset drawing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place. If they do not, turn one c onnect or and try again .
1 1 12. Firmly tighten the four 3/8" x 2 3/4" Bolts (7) and the four 3/8" x 1 1/4" Bolts (8) (only one side is shown). Press the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83) onto the Base (94) until they snap into place. 12 83 8 82 94 11.
12 14. Hold the Left Upright Cover (79) against the console assembly. Align the holes in the Left Upright Cover with the holes in the Left Upright (89). Attach the Left Upright Cover with three #8 x 1/2" Screws (1). Attach the Right Upright Cover (80) to the Right Upright (90) in the same way.
13 16. Make sure that there is a piece of cardboard below the rear of the Frame (56). IMPOR TANT: S ee page 15 and pl ug in the p ower cord. Next, see page 17 and turn on the power. Then, press the Incline increase button o nce. When the Frame (56) stops moving, remove the key from the console and unplug the power cord.

15 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will cause excessive wear.
16 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When the manual mode of the con- sole is selected, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
17 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
18 If you press one of the numbered Quick Speed but- tons, the walking belt will gradually change speed until it reaches the selected speed setting. To se- l ect a speed setting that includes a decimal—such as 3.5 mph—press two numbered buttons in suc- c ession.
19 To reset the console, press the iFit Menu button in the upper right corner of the screen. To pause the workout, press the Pause button. To continue the w orkout, press the Resume button or the Start but- ton. To end the workout and select a new workout, p ress the New Workout button.
20 HOW TO USE A SET-A-GOAL WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See step 1 on page 17. 2. Select the start menu. See step 2 on page 17. 3. Select a set-a-goal workout. To select a set-a-goal workout, press the Workouts button on the screen. Then, press the Set a Goal button.
21 HOW TO USE A CALORIE BURN WORKOUT OR AN ALL-TERRAIN TRAILS WORKOUT 1 . Insert the key into the console. S ee step 1 on page 17. 2. Select the start menu.
22 The workout will continue in this way until the last segment ends. The walking belt will then slow to a stop. A workout summary will then appear on the s creen.
23 HOW TO USE THE IFIT LIVE MODE The iFit Live mode enables the treadmill to communi- c ate with your wireless network. With the iFit Live mode, you can download personalized workouts, cre- a te your own workouts, track your workout results, and access many other features.
24 HOW TO USE THE STEREO SOUND SYSTEM To play music or audio books through the consoleʼs s peakers, you must connect your MP3 player, CD player, or other personal audio player to the console. Locate the audio wire. Plug one end into the audio jack on the side of the console.
25 To use a static DNS, press the Use Static DNS button. Enter at least one DNS. Press the arrow buttons to view additional entry boxes. When you a re finished, press the Submit button. To return to the advanced settings screen, press the Cancel b utton.
26 HOW TO USE THE MAINTENANCE MODE The console features a maintenance mode that allows y ou to calibrate the incline and speed of the treadmill, restore factory defaults, calibrate the screen, perform a n etwork test, update the console firmware, and view technical information.
27 6. Perform a network test. If desired, press the Network Test button to check t he connection status of the treadmill. The previous router status shows whether the treadmill has ever c onnected to a wireless router. The current router status shows whether the treadmill is currently con- nected to a wireless router.

29 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
30 Locate the Reed Switch (52) and the Magnet (50) on the left side of the Pulley (49). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
31 b. If the walking belt slips when walked on, first re- move the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both idler roller bolts clock- w ise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is cor- rectly tightened, you should be able to lift each e dge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in.
32 These guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program. For detailed exercise information, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician. Remember, proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results.
33 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
