13 Getting started US Step 2: Charg ing the batter y pack Y ou can charge the “ InfoLITHIUM ” battery pack (L series) after attachin g it to yo ur camcor der . Notes Y ou cannot a ttach any “I nfoLITHIUM ” b attery pack other than the L series to your cam corder .

15 Getting started US Charging the battery pack abroad Y ou can charge the ba ttery pack in any coun tries/regions using the A C Ada ptor supp lied with your camco rder within the AC 100 V - 240 V , 50 Hz/60 Hz range. Notes Do not use an electronic vo ltage transf ormer .

18 US Step 4: Making setting adjustments before recor ding The L CD panel Open the LCD panel ( ), then rota te it to the best angle to recor d or play ( ). Tips If you r otate the LCD panel 180 degrees to the lens side , you can close the LCD pan el with the LCD screen facing out.
19 Getting started US Notes Y ou may see primary colors shimmerin g in the viewfinder when you move yo ur line of sight. This is n ot a malfunction. The shimmering colors will no t be recorded on the r ecording media.

21 Getting started US T o check the recor ding media settings In either mo vie recording mode or ph oto reco rding mode, the media icon o f t he selected recor ding media is displa yed at the to p r ight corner of the scr een.
22 US Open the cover , and inser t the memor y card with the notched edge in the direction as illustrated until it clicks. Close the cover after inserting the memory card. The [Creat e a new Image Da t abase File.] screen ma y appear if you insert a new memory card.
Recording/Playback 23 US Recording/Playback Recording In the defa ult setting, movies a nd photos a re recorded on the in ternal memor y . Mo vies are recorded with high definition ima ge quality (HD). Tips T o change the recordin g me dia, see page 20.
24 US Recording movies Press MODE t o light up the (Movie) lamp. The LCD screen displa y switches for mo vie recording mode, and the screen aspect ratio becomes 16:9. Press ST AR T/STOP (or ). T o stop recor ding, press ST ART/STO P again.

29 Recording/Playback US Selecting the recording mode Y ou can select a recording mode to r ecord the high definition image quality (HD) movies fro m 4 levels. The recor ding time of the media is chan ged depending on recor ding mode. In the defa u lt setting, [ REC MODE] is set to [HD FH].
30 US Prioritizing the subject When [F ACE DETECTI ON] (p . 82) is s et to [ON] (the defa ult setting), and several faces are detected, to uch the face you want to recor d as priority . Focus/color/exposur e are ad justed a utomatically for the selected face.
