Installing ACE Before You Start Before insta lling your new software you must f irst set your camer a’s IP-address. Please refer to the Installation Guide for your camera fo r more information. Installation Click the setup file for the program. You will be asked where you want to install the pr ogram.
Adding a Camera Click on Add . The right hand side of Explorer will now show a further f ive options – Add Album , Add Cam era, Add Camera Swit ching, Add Liv e Video Site and Add Quad View . Click Add Cam er a and a Wizard guiding y ou through the installa tion will start.
You will then see a window containing informatio n about the camera found at that address. The resolution can be changed b y clicking the drop-down arrow, as can the c amera number. If for some reason y ou have ch anged the HTTP port address in the camera itself, you must specify the new port in the field provided.
If identific ation fails, click Choose to manually provide the information for the camer a. You can now renam e your camera to an y thing y ou like. This name will appear in Windows Explorer.
Your camera now appear s in Windows Explorer. Click the icon for your camera and a live feed from it will be presented in the right hand window. Note: If y ou experience problems adding a camera, please ref er to the documentation supplied with your camera for more inf ormation about installing and setting the camera’s IP-address.
Adding an Album An album is a “virtual director y” that allows you to easily view and manage your images and movies. Back in the Explorer window, Click Add and then on Add Album . Complete the dialogs, specifying which f older will contain your images and fina lly, give your album a name.
Adding a Quad View Object ACE includes a fe ature that allows you to view the live feeds from up to 4 video sources simultaneously. This is called a Quad View object, and it is added in the same way as a came ra or an album. Simply specify the cameras that will be include d in the Quad View and give the view a name.
By right-clicking on the image you will see a context menu, from which you can choose to Display Names or not, and wheth er or not to use a Limi ted Fr ame Ra te . This last option is useful if you are experien cing bandwidth problems and need to decre ase the frame rate i n the images.
Camera Switch ing Camera Switc hing is when you let ACE altern ate between the camera feeds it display s. To do this you need to add a SwitchCam object, which is done in the same wa y as for cameras, albums, etc. Click the Add button and then click on Add Came ra Switc hing .
Recording a Movie Click on your camera to open the image in the right hand window. Now right-click on the ima ge and a short menu will a ppear. Click Record to record a movie. The resulting dialog asks you where you want to save y our recordings, which frame rate you want to use, and for how long you want to record.
When setting the frame rate and re cording period, remembe r that recording for long periods a nd at high frame rates will create ver y large numbers of files and take up a lot of disk space. The file prefix “sequence” is used to save images as movies.
Working with Movies Movie files created with ACE are sav ed with the extension .sqj. These files only represent a group of image file s and they will not affect your individual ima ges in any way. Sqj-files may be viewed in the Album you created earlier.
Other Settings and F unc tions Shortc uts If you click on Network Cameras in the left hand window of Explorer you will then see all the installed cameras and Al bums on the right hand side. Right-click and drag any item onto your desktop and create a shor tcut to it.
Pan/Tilt/Zoom If you have a Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) device connect ed to your camera, this can be controlled directl y from the image display in Windows Explorer. The mouse is used to perfo rm the following operations: • To center the image, click any where in the imag e.

Le informazioni sul Axis ACE ti aiuteranno sicuramente a prendere una decisione relativa all’acquisto.
In una situazione in cui hai già il Axis ACE, ma non hai ancora letto il manuale d’uso, dovresti farlo per le ragioni sopra descritte. Saprai quindi se hai correttamente usato le funzioni disponibili, e se hai commesso errori che possono ridurre la durata di vita del Axis ACE.
