5 PRINTING FROM WINDOWS 1 AUDITING MODE When "AU DITING MODE" is enabled in the key ope rator program s, a 5-digit acc ount number must be enter ed in the printer d river setup sc reen in order to print. A ccount n umbers are stor ed in the key o perat or progra ms.
6 OPENING THE PRINTER DRIVER FROM THE [START] BUTTON To cha nge the pr inter driv er sett ings, fol low the steps bel ow. Se ttings adj usted in this way will be th e initial settings when you print fr om an appl ication .
7 1 PRINTER DRIVER SETTINGS To view He lp for a s etting , click the button in the upp er right- hand corner of the win dow and then cli ck the setting. Some r estricti ons exi st on t he co mbinatio ns of settings that can be selec ted in th e pr inter d river s etup sc reen.
8 PRINTING FROM WINDOWS TWO-SIDED PRINTI NG (ONLY FO R MODELS THAT SUPPORT T WO-SIDED P RINTING) On models that have the two-sided printing fun ction, both si des of the paper can be prin ted on.
9 PRINTING FROM WINDOWS 1 Pamp hl et st yle Pamphle t style p rints tw o pages each on the front a nd bac k of each sheet of paper ( four pages tot al on one sheet) so that the sheets ca n be fold ed down th e center and bound to create a pamp hlet. This func tion is conveni ent when you wish to compi le prin ted pages into a pamp hlet .
10 PRINTING FROM WINDOWS PRINTING MULTIPLE PAGES ON ONE PAGE This featur e allows you to reduce an d print two, fo ur, six, eight, nine or sixteen document pa ges on a sin gle sheet of paper.
11 PRINTING FROM WINDOWS 1 FITTING THE PRINT IMAGE TO THE PAPER The prin ter driv er can adjust th e size of the prin t image to match the s ize of t he pape r loaded in the mac hine.
12 PRINTING FROM WINDOWS ROTATING THE PRINT IMAGE 180 DEGREES The prin t image can be r otated 180 degre es. This feat ure rota tes the pr int im age 180 de grees to enable correct printing on paper th at can onl y be loa ded in one orien tation .

16 PRINTER UTILITIES ( WINDOWS) CHECKING THE PRINTER STATUS The Pri nter Statu s Monitor allows y ou to chec k whether or not to ner and p aper rem ain in the machine . 1 Right-click the [Printer Status Monitor] icon ( ) on the task bar, and select [SHARP AR- XXXX Status] from the pop-up menu.

18 PRINTING FROM A MAC INTOSH 5 Select print settings. Click next to [Copie s & Pages] ([Gener al] in Ma c OS 8.6 to 9.2.2) and select th e settings that you wish to co nfigure fr om the p ull-down me nu. Th e corres ponding s etting screen wil l appear.
19 PRINTING FROM A MAC INTOSH 3 WHEN [PAPER FEED] IS SET TO [AUTO S ELECT] If [Paper Fee d] is se t to [Auto Selec t] in the Pri nt window and the c orrect size of paper is not l oaded in the machine, the pri nting proce dure wil l vary dep ending on the "FORCED OUTPUT OF PRINT" (page 31 ) sett ing in t he key operato r program s.

31 5 KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS The key ope rator progr ams a llow the admini strator of the machin e (key ope rator) to ena ble and d isable fun ctions to suit the needs of t he wor kplace. This chap ter expl ains the key oper ator progr ams for the net work and printer function s.
32 USING THE KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS BASIC PROCEDU RE FOR CONFIGURING SETTINGS Follow the steps below to acces s the ke y operat or se ttings for th e networ k and pri nter func tions. 1 Press the [SPECIAL FUNCTION] key. The sp ecial fun ction screen will app ear.
33 KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS 5 SPECIAL SETTINGS IP address settings This program is used to set the "IP ADDRE SS", "SUBNETMA SK", and " DEFAULT GATEWAY ". The following scree n appears when this progr am is se lecte d. 1 Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
34 6 TROUBLESHOOTING TROUBLESH OOTING This ch apter ex plains what to do when the mach ine do es not c onnect to the n etwork or when p roblems o ccur dur ing printing. For pro blems r elated to the mac hine suc h as run ning out o f paper or pape r misfeeds , see the " Operat ion ma nual (for general informa tion and c opier)".

37 6 CHECKING THE IP ADDRESS There ar e several settings wh ere the IP address must be entered o r checked . To che ck the IP ad dress o f the ma chine , hold down the st atus button on the n etwork e xpansio n kit for at l east 2 second s to print o ut a Prin ter Setti ng List.

In Windo ws 2000/XP/Se rver 2003, 2, 4, 6, 9, a nd 16 N-u p printing can be used. *2 Only for model s that su pport two -sided pri nting. *3 Pamphlet style printing is a vailabl e in Window s 2000/XP/Serve r 2003.
