2.1 2. Installation This photo printer prints image s by moving the print paper back and forth through the printer . This chapter details the distances that need to be main tained between the printer and surrounding objects, how to turn the printe r on and off , and how to load paper .
2.2 Installing the Ribbon cartridge Only use Sams ung-appro ved ribbon c artridges, de signed for y our printer . Ribbon cart ridge/phot o paper: IPP-4 640G The supp lie d Ribb on ca rtr idge all o ws you to pr int 10 pi eces of pape r . 1 Open the s ide co ver.
Loadi ng paper 2.3 Loading paper The suppo rted paper size is Postcard(10 2x152mm/4"x6" ) size. You should use only pa per des ign ed fo r Sa msun g Pho to Pr inter . 1 Ope n the paper ca ssette. L oad th e paper s hiny side u p. Ensu re that it is laid flat, a nd close the cover.
2.4 Connecting the power cord T o tu rn on the pr inter , you need the p ower cord a nd the po wer adapter . Conne ct the power adapter t o the printer and conne ct the power cord to the an wall outlet or other power source . 1 Conn e c t the end of the power ada pter to the power ada pter port of the pr inter.
3.1 3. Printing from memory cards (F or SPP-2040 Series only) This printer can pr int images f rom seven kind s of memory cards. Y ou can choose specific copy , size and language options without connecting to a computer .
3.2 Inserting memory cards This pri n te r can read seve n kind s of m em or y cards. The memory ca rds suppo rt up to 2GB. Compa ctF lash Type I & II The label and the arrow should be facing up. Insert the memory card until it stops. xD-Picture Card M T ype is n ot su pport ed.
3.3 Printing image s If you can see image s on the display panel, select one and print it. 1 Insert th e memory ca rd. For details about in serting memory cards, see page 3.2-Inserting memory car ds. 2 Pr ess the Le ft and Rig ht button s to select an image from those on the displ ay pane l.
3.4 Printing multipl e images Y ou can sel ect a group of im ages and a n umber of co pies to be print ed of each, rather than sep arately selecting the number o f copies for each p hoto. 1 Insert th e memory ca rd. For details about in serting the memory cards, see page 3.

3.7 Printing enlargeme nts of portions of an image Y ou ca n enlarge an d prin t part of an image. 1 Insert th e memory ca rd. For details about in serting memory cards, see page 3.2-Inserting memory car ds. 2 Press the Left an d Right b uttons to select an image from those on the displ ay pane l.
3.8 Print ing e nlarge men ts of p ortio ns o f an im age 4 Press th e Zoom In button u ntil the size you want appea rs. By pressing the Z oom In button, yo u can see 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2x, 2.25x. 2.5x, 2.75x, 3x enlargement. T o zoom out of the image, press the Z oom Out button.
3.9 Setting various ef fects Y ou can se lect color , clarity , and b rightness options fo r your images. 1 Press the Menu button after selecting an image with the Left and Right button s. The effect you set is only applied only to those images yo u have select ed.
3.10 Setting additional functions Y ou can set u p borders fo r your photos, l ayout styl e and paper s ize. Y ou ca n also print all of your images at one time or select an alternative langu age with your photo printer . 1 Press th e Menu b utton twic e after selecting the image with the Left and Right bu ttons.

3.13 Printing DPOF fi les If your camera is compatible with and abl e to store DPOF files, the Samsung Photo Printer can print th em. 1 Insert th e memory ca rd with DPOF files. For details about in serting the memory cards, se e page 3.2-In se r ti n g me m or y car ds.
3.14 Removing memory cards Please do not rem ove a memory card until the following steps have been ta ken. When not connected to a computer Gently remo ve the memory card from the pr in ter . When connected to a computer 1 Clos e the prog ram you’v e used.
4.1 4. Printing direc tly from your digital c amera (For SPP-2020 and SPP-2040 Series) Samsung Photo Printer supports PictBridg e. Y ou can print images directly from your digital camera thr ough a USB cable without connecting to a computer . Y ou c annot use a memory card w hile a digital cam era is connected to the printer v ia a USB cable.
4.2 Printing directl y from your digit al camer a Y ou can prin t images by con necting a Pi ctBridge-com patible devic e like a dig ital camer a, camera phone, and camcod er to your printer . 1 Turn on the printer. 2 Connect your d igital camera to the pri nter with the USB cable suppl ied with the cam era.
5.1 5. Printing via a computer (For SPP-2020 and SPP-2 040 Series) Y ou can print images from progr ams such as those in the MS Office su ite, or any other . With the Phot oThru prog ram included in the CD-ROM, you can print all manner of usef ul and entertaining image s.
5.2 Connecting your printer to a Windows-based PC Connect th e Photo print er to the PC wi th the USB ca ble supplied with your digital camera. You can connect the Ph oto printer o nly with the US B cable. 1 Conn ect th e power c able to the pri nter.
5.3 Installing the program for Window s Install the program on your Windo ws-based PC a fter loading pap er and connect ing cables. Y ou should install the pr ogram version th at was supplied with the printer . System r equirements Befo re you be g in, ensur e that yo ur syste m meets th e mi nimum sy stem requirements.
5.4 Inst a llin g th e pro gra m for W indo ws Installing the program 1 Quit all programs. 2 Turn on your PC and click 'Cancel' when the 'Found N ew Hardware Wizard' sc reen appears. 3 Insert the supplied software program CD(la bel-side up) into into your CD-ROM drive.

5.6 Inst a llin g th e pro gra m for W indo ws Reinst alling th e Program Rei nstallation is sometimes necessary if your installation f ails or the software does not work properly .
Insta lling th e program fo r Wi ndows 5.7 3 Select the components you want to re install and click 'Next'. If you select ‘Printer , ’ the window asking you to print a test page appears. If you choose to prin t a test page, select the ch ec k box an d click 'Next.
5.8 Inst a llin g th e pro gra m for W indo ws 3 Select the co mponents you want to re move and click 'Ne xt.' 4 Click 'Yes' when the window asking you to remove the compo nent(s) y ou selec ted appea rs. 5 Click 'Finish' when the uninstalla tion is done.
5.9 Deleting t he PhotoThru pro gram PhotoThru is a photo-editing progr am. If any pr oblems occur after installi ng the pro gram, dele te th e pro gra m and r ein stal l it. 1 Select 'St art' → 'Pro grams' o r 'All Programs ' → 'Pho toThru' → 'Uninsta ll.
5.10 Sele cting you r Photo pri nter as the default pri nter in Window s When one o r more printers are connected to a computer , or many printers a re shared on a network, you can select one printer a s the default p rinter . When you print a file from an a pplication, i t is prin ted on the sele cted printer .
5.11 Printing from a Windows- base d co mpute r Y ou can print images from a n application on a Windows -based PC. 1 Open the application and then the file you want to print. 2 Select 'Print' in 'File' menu. The print screen appears.

5.24 Setting up the printer in Macin tosh Using in MAC O S 10.3.X USB e nvironme nt 1 Open the hard disk and select 'Applications' → 'Utilities' → 'Printer Setup Utility.' 2 Click 'Add' on the printer list. 3 Select 'US B' tab.

5.29 Printing using Ph otoThru program in M acintosh The PhotoThru program is convenient when you modify your image files. It provides v arious and interesting image editin g features. For details abo ut how to use Pho toThru, refer to the PhotoThru us er's guide.

5.31 Using MSC(Mass Sto rage Class) functi on(For SPP-20 40 Serie s o nly) If you connec t your printer to a W indows-based comp uter via a USB ca ble, and insert a memory card into t he printer , the computer recognizes the me mory card as a removable disk.
5.32 Printing with Bl uetooth (Optional: S PP-00BA) If you instal l the optional Bluet ooth device, you ca n print wirelessly fr om only a camera phone eq uipped with Blueto oth. While thi s product complie s with the Bluetooth Specifica tion, it is not guarant eed to work with all devices enabled with Bluetoo th wireless tec hnology .
6.1 6. Mainte nance This printer can be maintained quite ea sily . It is light and portable. W hen storing or c arrying the printer , rem ove the paper and the pap er cassette.

6.4 Repl acing the Ri bbon c artrid ge 4 After remo ving th e car tridge from its pack ag e, rotate t he roller to smooth out wrinkles or uneven areas in the film. If the film is not ev en, it could be damaged during installation. 5 Insert the cartridge in the direction in the shown illustration.
