13 Creating a New Google Account In order to utilize your device to the fulles t extent, you will need to create a Google Account when you first use your device. With a Google Account, Google applications will always be in sync between your tablet and computer .

15 Installing a Memor y Card 1. Open the Memory Card Sl ot cover and tu rn to expose the slot. 2. With the gold contacts facing do wn, carefully slide the memory car d into the slot, pushing gently unt il it clicks into p lace. 3. Replace the Memory Card Slot cover .

21 Home Screen The Home screen is the starting point for using your device. Note: Unless stated otherwise, instructions in this user manual start with the device unlocked, at the Home s creen. 1. Status Icons : Indicate the status of your tablet. T ouch the Time / Status Icons area to display the Status Details panel.

Understanding Y our Device 30 Primar y Shor tcuts Primary Shor tcuts display at the bottom of the Home screens. Tip : The main Home screen is usually the center Home screen. The default Primar y Shortcuts are: Contacts, Email, S Planner , Internet, Settings, and Apps.
31 W idgets When you first turn on your ta blet, there are various widgets on the center Home screen. They can also appear on the Home screens to the left a nd right of the center Home screen. Widgets are self-contained appl ications that you can place on the Home screens to access your favorite feat ures.

33 R emo ving a Folder T ouch and hold the folder until the Remove icon displays, then drag the folder to the Remove icon. Note: Any App shortcuts in the folder are also re moved. 35 Customizing the Multi Window T ray Y ou can choose applica tions to display on th e Multi Window T ray and arrange them in any order . 1. From any screen, touch Multi Wind ow T ray at the bottom, center of the screen. 2. T ouch . 3. T ouch and drag apps in and out of the tray or to another position in the tray .

The selected text is highlighted wi th a tab at each end of the selection. 2. T ouch and drag either tab to select more or less text.

63 Latitude With Google Latitude, you can s ee the location of all of your friends on a map or on a list. Y ou can also share or hide your location. Y ou must first set up your tablet to use wireless netwo rks to help pinpoint your loca tion. Also, Latit ude works best when Wi-Fi is enabled.

93 Uninstalling an App Apps come pre-installed on your device and you can download additional apps from Google Play . If y ou decide to, you can uninstall apps you downloaded from Google Play and other sources. There are several ways to uninst all an app: 1.
Connections 94 Kies Via W i-Fi Samsung Kies is a software that en ables you to update your device firmware, synchronize files, and transfer data to and from your device directly by connecting to the PC. Note: Some features will be supported through the System Updates fe ature in th e future.
