2 6 Inserting the battery pack 1. Open the battery/memory card cover by sliding the battery/memory card cover switch to the left ( OPEN ) as shown in the figure. 2. As the environmental temperature and conditions vary, the actual battery time may differ form the approximate times given in the table. • The recording and playback time will be shorter depending on the conditions under which you use your camcorder.

38 Compatible memory cards • This camcorder can be used with SD (Secure Digital) and SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards. It is recommended to use an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. SD cards up to 2GB are supported with this camcorder.
39 • If you cannot use a memory card that has been used with another device, format it with your camcorder. Note that formatting erases all information on the memory card. • A memory card has a certain life span. If you cannot record new data, you have to purchase a new memory card.

4 2 BASIC CAMCORDER POSITIONING Use both hands while taking a video or picture to prevent the camcorder from shaking. Try to avoid any slight movement while shooting. Adjusting the shooting angle This camcorder lens angle is approx. 25˚ higher than the rest of the camcorder body.

85 Time Lapse REC Using the time lapse feature, your camcorder can be programmed to automatically record a number of frames over a period of time or with a certain time interval between each frame. For instance, a camcorder on a tripod (not supplied) in time lapse mode could be set up to shoot frames of a flower opening or a bird building a nest.
86 Example of Time Lapse Recording The Time Lapse Recording function records image frames at the predefined interval over the total recording time to produce a time-lapse video.
