Samples are pieces of sampled (recor ded) sound together with their loop settings, etc. That are assigned to the twelve pads. Y ou can play a sample by pressing the corr esponding pad [1]–[12].

32 P attern Sequencer The SP-404SX con tains a Pattern Sequencer function that can record sample-playback operations. Another w ay to use this capability is to combine several phrase samples to create a simple song , or to combine rhythm samples to create rhythm pa tterns.
