1 Manuals for this Machine The following two manuals have been prepared for operating this machine: this manual describing how to make system settings for copying fun ctions and the “Copy Reference” manual introducing the operating pr ocedures for copying functions.

Settings You can Change with the User Tools 11 1 System Reset If no op eration is performed for a selected time, the machine will au tomatic ally retu rn to init ially se lected dis play. This functio n is called “System Reset”. You can set the time between 10 and 999 second s.

13 1. Basics Starting the Machine To turn the machine on, pres s the operation switch. Please refer to “Energy Saver Mode—Sav- ing Energy” and “Auto Off Timer” in the System Settings manual.

If you wish to change the size of paper set in this tray, contact your service re presentative. *2 If you wi sh to co py onto n on-standard size paper, sel ect the size with User T ools.

Basic Procedure 25 2 - Energy Saver This indic ator lights when the machine is saving energy. To exit Energy Saver mode, press an y key on the control panel. ⇒ P.67 “Energy Saver Mode” - Auto Off The machine automatically turns itself off a fixed period of time after your job is finished.

Setting Originals 29 2 Standard Orie ntation A Make su re t he [ Standard Orienta tion ] key is sel ected. 90 ° Turn When you w ant to copy on to A3, B4 or 11" × 1 7" size origi nals, set your o riginal in the landscape orientation and then press the 90 ° Turn key.

Basic Functions 39 2 - Image Rotation If the direction in which your original is set (landscape or p ortrait) is differen t from the paper you are copying onto, this function rotates the original image by 90 ° and fits it on the copy paper. This function works when the following func- tions are select ed.
Co pyin g 40 2 Auto Reduc e/E nlarge The machine can choose an appropriate rep roduction ratio based on the paper and original sizes you select. Note ❒ You can not set papers into the A3/11" × 17" Tray Kit.

Co pyin g 42 2 Copying onto Tab Stock Preparation Set the paper tray for tab stock. See “Tray Pape r Settings” in the System Set- tings ma nual. You can set the tab stock in the Large Cap acity Tray (LCT ) Trays 4 - 5. Check the position of index tab to avoid the image being sheared.

Stac k 47 2 Stack This function groups copies of eac h page in a multi-page original together. Every other page stack is sh ifted for ease of separa tion. The finisher shift tr ay of the finisher provides this fun ction by sliding from side to side. Reference For the maximum tray capacity of the finisher, see ⇒ P.
