4 PREP ARA TION CONNECTING POWER Plug the Chronom atic-278’s pow er cord into a stand ard AC outlet. The dis- play flashes whe n the radio is first plugged i n o r if the power is i nterrupted and the ba ckup bat tery is missing or weak.
5 CLOCK OPERA TION SETTI NG THE TIME 1. Press and hold TIME SET , then press HOUR . The hour di gits advance by 1 e ach t ime you pres s HOUR . Press and hold HOUR to rapidly advance the hour digits. Note: The PM indicator appears on the t op left of the di spl ay at 12:00 noon and disappea rs at 12:00 midnight.

7 USING THE SNO OZE FEA TURE To temporari ly silence t he buzzer or radio so it sounds again after 9 min- utes, press SNOOZE . You can repeat thi s u n til yo u s e t ALARM/AUTO/OFF/ON to OFF to tu rn off t he alarm. To reset the alarm to sound aga in at the sam e alarm tim e on the next day, set ALARM/AUTO/ OFF/ ON back to ALARM or AUT O .
8 PLA YING THE RADIO 1. Rotate VOLUME to it s minimum leve l. 2. Set ALARM/AUTO/ OFF/ ON to ON . 3. Set FM/AM to the des ired band . 4. Rotate TUNING to the des ired f re- quency . 5. Rotate VOLUME to a com fortable listening level . 6. T o turn off the radio , set ALARM/ AUTO/OFF/ ON to OFF .
