5 Screw Mounting Bracket Handlebar Brac k et Cov er 1. Plac e the mounting brac k et ov er the up- per s haft above t he arrow on the s afety label. Be sur e to us e the c orrec t mount- ing brac ket for either the 1 ″ (2.5 c m) or 7/8 ″ (2.2 cm) diameter upper shaft.

8 Screwdriver 9. Tighten blade nut firmly with a wr ench while holding s cr ewdriv er in pos ition. 10. Remov e t he s cr ewd riv er . 1 1. Turn blade by hand. If the blade binds against t he shield, or appear s t o be un- even, t he blade is not cent ered, and you must r einstall.

Remove the s haft c ap from the attac h- ment (if pres ent) and disc ard. 2. Pos ition lock ing/releas e button of at tac h- ment into guide rec es s of upper s haft coupler.

11 Bring t he powerhead engine to c utting s peed before entering t he material to be c ut. If the blade does not tur n when you s queeze the throttle trigger of the pow erhead, mak e sur e the attachment is fully inserted into the coupler.
12 5. Wind the line ev enly and tightly onto the spool. Wind in the dir ect ion o f the arrows found on the spool. 6. Pus h the lines int o the notc hes, leav ing 3 to 5 inc hes ( 7 - - 12 cm) unw ound. 7. Inser t the lines into t he the exit holes in the hub as s hown in the illus tration.
