6 S Replace the bar clamp nuts and tighten finger tight. Once the chain is ten- sioned you will need to tighten bar clamp nuts. Mount the Bar Proper cha in direction Tip of Bar Place chain onto the sprocket CHAIN TENSION (Including units with chain already installed) NOTE : When adjusting chain tension, make sure the bar nuts are finger tight only.
7 ST ARTING WAR NI N G: The chain must not move when the engine runs at idle speed. If the chain m oves at idle speed refer to CARBURE - TOR ADJUSTMENT within this manual. Avoid contact w ith t he muffler. A hot muff ler can cause serious burns. To s t o p t h e e n g i n e m ove the switch to the STOP or OFF position.
8 S Allow the chain to cut for you. Ex - ert only light downward pressure. If you force the cut, damage to the bar , chain, or engine can result. S Release the throttle trigger as soon as the cut is completed, al- lowing the engine to idle.
9 S Be alert to signs that the tree is ready to fall: cracki ng sounds, widening of the felling cut, or movement in the upper branch es. S As tree starts to fall, stop saw , put it down, and get away quickly on your planned retreat path. S Be extrem ely cautious with partially fall- en trees that may be poorly supported.
