BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the revolutionary NordicTrack ® COMMERCIAL 1750 treadmill. The COMMERCIAL 1750 treadmill offers an impressive selection of fea- tures designed to make your workouts at home more enjoyable and effective.
ASSEMBLY Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
1. 1 Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Place a piece of cardboard below the rear of the Frame (56) to protect the floor or carpet. Attach the Left Wheel Cap (96) to the Base (97) with two #8 x 3/4" Screws (1). Attach the Right Wheel Cap (not shown) to the right side of the Base (97) in the same way.
4. 4 Hold the Left Upright (89) against the Base (97). Be careful not to pinch the wires. If nec- essary, position the Base Ground Wire (94)in the hole in the sideof the LeftUpright. Insert two 3/8"x 2 3/4"Bolts (7) andtwo 3/8"x 1 1/4" Bolts (8) with two 3/8" Star Washers (12)into the LeftUpright.
6. 6 With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the Left Upright (89). Connect the Upright Wire (84) to the console wire. See the inset drawing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place. If they do not, turn one connector and try again.
. Identify the Left Handrail (87), which is marked with a "Left" sticker. Slide the Left Handrail be- tween the console assembly and the pulse assembly. Attach the Left Handrail (87) with two 5/16" x 2" Bolts (4), a 5/16" x 3 3/4" Bolt (2), and three 5/16" Star Washers (10) as shown.
10. Make sure there is a piece of cardboard below the rear of the Frame (56). iMPORTANT: See page 14 and plug in the power cord. Next, see page 16 and turn on the power. Then, press the 0 percent incline button. When the Frame (56) stops moving, remove the key from the console and unplug the power cord.
12. Remove the packaging material from the bottom of the Frame (56). See the inset drawing. Make sure that the 1/2" Rear Foot Nuts (111) are threaded all the way onto the Rear Feet (60). Turn the two Rear Feet all the way into the Frame. See step 10.
HOW TO USE THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR HOW TO PUT ON THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR The chest pulse sensor consists of two components: the chest strap and the sensor unit. Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor unit, as shown in the inset drawing.
OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will cause excessive wear.

HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE iMPORTANT: if the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power, if you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
If you press one of the numbered 1 Step Speed buttons, the walking belt will gradually change speed until it reaches the selected speed setting. To select a speed setting that includes a decimal-- such as 3.5 mph--press two numbered buttons in succession.
To reset the console, press the iFit Menu button in the upper right corner of the screen. To pause the workout, press the Pause button. To continue the workout, press the Resume button or the Start but- ton. To end the workout and select a new workout, press the New Workout button.
HOW TO USE A SET-A-GOAL WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See step 1 on page 16. 2. Select the start menu. See step 2 on page 16. 3. Select a set-a-goal workout. To select a set-a-goal workout, press the Workouts button on the screen. Then, press the Set a Goal button, You can also press the Set A Goal Workouts button on the console.
HOW TO USE A CALORIE BURN WORKOUT OR AN ALL-TERRAIN TRAILS WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See step 1 on page 16. 2. Select the start menu. See step 2 on page 16. 3. Select a calorie burn workout or an all-terrain trails workout. To select a calorie burn workout or an all-terrain trails workout, press the Workouts button on the screen.
The workout will continue in this way until the last segment ends. The walking belt will then slow to a stop. A workout summary will then appear on the screen.
HOW TO USE THE IFIT LIVE MODE IFIT LIVE FCC INFORMATION The iFit Live mode enables the treadmill to communi- cate with your wireless network. With the iFit Live mode, you can download personalized workouts, cre- ate your own workouts, track your workout results, and access many other features.
HOW TO USE THE SETTINGS MODE The console features a settings mode that allows you to connect your treadmill to your own wireless network and to log in to your iFit Live account. The settings mode also allows you to select a display language, to select the unit of measurement, and to turn on and turn off the display demo mode.
3. Log in to your iFit Live account. To switch iFit Live accounts, touch the iFit Live Login button. Then, enter your user name and password using the keyboard on the screen. See step 2 on page 23 for instructions about using the keyboard. When you are finished, touch the Submit button.
HOW TO USE THE MAINTENANCE MODE The console features a maintenance mode that allows you to calibrate the incline and speed of the treadmill, restore factory defaults, calibrate the screen, perform a network test, update the console firmware, and view technical information.
6. Perform a network test. If desired, press the Network Test button to check the connection status of the treadmill. The previous router status shows whether the treadmill has ever connected to a wireless router. The current router status shows whether the treadmill is currently con- nected to a wireless router.
HOW TO USE THE STEREO SOUND SYSTEM To play music or audio books through the console's speakers, you must connect your MP3 player, CD player, or other personal audio player to the console. Locate the audio wire. Plug one end into the audio jack in the tray below the Live Workouts button.
HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL To avoid damaging the treadmill, adjust the incline to 0 percent before you fold the treadmill. Then, re- move the key and unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 Ibs.
TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed, if further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
Lower the treadmill (see HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE on page 28). Remove the three #8 x 3/4" Screws (1). Carefully pivot the Motor Hood (71) off. 71 Locate the Reed Switch (52) and the Magnet (50) on the left side of the Pulley (49). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.

SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch--never bounce. 1.
