You are using your second phone line (network service). You have set your device to divert incoming calls to another number (network service). If you have two phone lines, a number indicates the active line. Your device is ready for an internet call. You have an ongoing data call (network service).
Shortcuts To switch between open applications, press and hold the menu key. Leaving applications running in the background increases the demand on battery power and reduces the battery life. To open the browser application, in the dialler, tap and hold 0 .
Volume and loudspeaker control Adjust the vol ume of a ph one call or sound clip Use the volume keys. The built-in loudspeaker allows you to speak and listen from a short distance without having to hold the device to your ear. Use the louds peaker during a call Select Loudspeaker .
For availability and subs cription to data connection services, contact your service provider. HSDPA only affects the download speed; sending data to the network, such as messages and e-mail, is n ot affected. Ovi (network ser vice) Visit Ovi Ovi contains services provided by Nokia.
Create a Nokia account 1 Select Ovi Chat , and when prompted, connect to the internet. 2 Enter the required information. 3 In the My profile view, enter your profile information.
Tell your friends what you are doing at the momen t Select What are you doing? , and enter text in the field. Show your friends what music you are currently listening to Select Now playing . To do this, yo u must allow your now playing information to be shared in the presence settings.
Send a chat message Enter the text in the message field, and select the send icon. In the chat view, select Options and fro m the following: Send — Send the messag e. Add smiley — Insert a smiley . Send my locat ion — Send your loca tion details to your chat partner (if supported by both devices).

Make calls Touch screen during calls Your device has a proximity sensor. To extend battery life and prevent accidental selections, the touch screen is disabled automatically during ca lls, when you place the device next to your ear. Do not cover the proximity sensor, for example, with protective film or tape.
4 To send the t one, select OK . You can add DTMF tones to the phone number or DTMF field in contact details. To end an active call and replace it by answering the waiting call, select Option s > Replace . Many of the options that you can use during a voice call are network services.

Add a new pa rticipant to a conference call Make a call to another participant, and add the new call to the conference call. Have a private conversation with a conference call participa nt Select . Go to the participant, and se lect . The conference call is put on hold on your device.

Replace the grey scr een with an image captured by the camera Select Menu > Sett ings and C alling > Call > Image in v ideo call . Reject a video call Press the end key. Video sharing Use video sharing (network service) to send live video or a video clip from your mobile device to another compatible mobile device during a voice call.
If you do not know the SIP address for the contact, you can use the phone number of the recipient, including the country code, to share video (if supported by the network service provider). Set up your 3G conne ction Contact your service provider to establish an agreement for you to use the 3G network.
Reject the received inv itation Select No . The sender receives a message that you rejected the invitation. You can also press th e end key to reject the invitation and end the voice call. End the sharing se ssion Select Stop or end the voice call. When you end the call, video sharing also end s.
Edit the servi ce destinati on Select Service connectivit y . Log The log stores information about the communication history of the device. The device registers missed and received calls only if the network supports these functions, the device is switched on, and within the network service area.

Send a message to all group members Tap and hold the group, and select Create message . Set a ringing tone for a group Tap and hold the group, and select Ringing tone . Rename a group Tap and hold the group, and select Rename . Delete a group Tap and hold the group, and select Delete .
Select Menu > E-mail Add a mailbox Select New , and follow the instructions. Add an e-mail widg et to the home screen In the home screen, select and hold t he desired location for the mail widget, and from the pop-up menu, select Add content and the desired mail widget.
Mail for Exchange With Mail for Exchange, you can receive your work e-mail to your device. You can read and reply to your e-mails, view and edit compatible attachments, view calendar information, receive an d reply to meeting requests, schedule meetings, and view, add, an d edit contact information.
Messaging Messaging main view Select Menu > M essaging . Messaging is a network service. Create a new message Select New message . Tip: To avoid rewriting messages that you send often, use saved me ssages in the Templates folder in My folders. Yo u can also create and save your own template s.
Add an object to a message Select and the relevant type of content. The message type may chang e to multimedia message based on the inserted content. Send the message Select , or press t he call key. Your device supports text mes sages beyond the limit for a single message.

Connectivity Your device offers several options to connect to the internet or to anoth er compatible device or PC. Data connections and access points Your device supports packet data connections (network service), such as GPRS in the GSM network.
Wireless LAN Your device can detect and connect to wireless local area networks (WLAN). Using a WLAN, you can connect your device to the internet and compatible devices that have WLAN support. About WLAN To use a wireless local area network (WLAN) connection, it must be available in the location, and your device must be connected to the WLAN.
To end the ac tive connection , select the connection and Disconnect WLAN . WLAN intern et access p oints Select Menu > Sett ings and Connectiv ity > WLAN . Filter ou t WLANs from the list of found networks Select Options > Filter W LAN networks .

Tip: When searching for devices, some devices may show only the unique address (device address). T o find the unique address of your device, in the home screen, enter *#2820# . Pair devi ces You can pair your device with a compatible device to make subseque nt Bluetooth connections bet ween the devices quicker.
If you reject a pairing request from another device, you are asked if you want to block all future connection requests from this device. If you accept the query, the device is added to the list of blocked devices. Remote SIM m ode With remote SIM mode, you can use a compatible car kit accessory.
To use Ovi Suite with USB connection mode, select PC Suite . For more information about Ovi Suite, see the support area at www.ovi.com. Administrative s ettings Packet data settings Select Menu > Settings and Connecti vity > Admin. set tings > Packet data .
Internet With the Web browser, you can view hypertext markup language (HTML) web pages on the intern et as originally designed. You can also brows e web pages that are designed specifically for mobile devices, and use extensible hypertext markup language ( XHTML), or the wireless markup lang uage (WML).
Go to URL or search — Enter a web address, or to search the web, enter search words in the search field. Show zoom — Zoom in or out on the web page. To use the expanded toolbar, select Expand toolbar and from the following: Go to feeds — View your current feed subscriptions.
Search for text within the current web page Select Options > Find keyword . To go to the previous or next match, from the toolbar, select Find next or Find previous . Bookmarks You can sto re your favourite we b pages in Bookmarks for instant access.

Select a colour effect. Adjust the white balance. Select the current lighting cond itions. This allows the camera to reproduce colours more accurately.

Send a podcast to another compatible device 1 Select Option s > Send . 2 Select the sending method (as .opml files in a multimedia message or by Bluetooth connectivity). Download podcasts After you have subscribed to a podcast, you can download, play, and mana ge the podcast episodes.
Podcastin g settings Select Menu > Appli cations > Podcasti ng . To start using Podcasting, define your connection and download settin gs. Connectio n settings Select Options > Settings > Connectio n and from the following: Default access point — Select the access point to use to connect to the internet.
To listen to saved stations, select Option s > Stations , and select a station from the list. To remove or rename a station, select Option s > Stations > Options > Delete or Rename . To set the desired frequency manually, select Options > Tune statio ns > Option s > Manual tuning .
Download a video clip Select Options > Down load . Some video clips can be streamed over the air, but others must be firs t downloaded to your device. Downloads continue in the background if you exit the application. The downloaded video clips are saved in My videos .
Video clip details — View information about a video clip. Memory status — View the amount of available and used memory. Sort by — Sort video clips. Select the desired category. Move and copy — Move or copy video clips. Se lect Copy or Move and the desi red location.
Personalise y our device You can personalise your device by changing the s tandby mode, main menu, tones, themes, or font size. Most of the personalisation option s, such as changin g the font size, can be accessed through the device settings. Change the look of your device Select Menu > Sett ings and Themes .
To select an image or image slide show as the background image in the home screen, select Menu > Settings and Themes > Wallpaper . To change the clock shown in the home screen, tap the clock in the home screen, and select Opt ions > Settings > Clock type .

Q: Why can't my Nokia device establi sh a GPS connection? A: Establishing a GPS connection may take from a couple of seconds to several minutes. Establishing a GPS connection in a vehicle may take longer. If you are indoors, go outdoors to receive a bet ter signal.

Green tips Here are tips on how you can contribute to protecting the environment. Save energy When you have fully charged the battery and disconnected the charger from the device, unplug the charger from the wall outlet.
Safe removal. Always switch the device off and disconnect the charger before removing the battery. Proper chargi ng. Unplug the char ger from the electri cal plug and the device when no t in use. Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger, since ov ercharging may shorten its lifetime.
