Calibrating the Printer The print er is cali brated at the factory so t hat vertical l ines in your text a nd graphi cs are properl y aligned . If you n otice misal igned im ages in prin tout s, howe ver, c alibr ate t he printer with t he Bi-D Ca librat ion Util ity.
1. Remove the output t ray from the t op of the paper tray. 2. Slide the left edge guid e inside the paper tray to the left as far as i t wi ll g o. 3. Fli p up the rear edge gu ide an d slid e it toward you as far as it wil l go. 4. Fan a s tack of pa per; then tap it on a flat s urface to ev en the edges.

Adjusting th e paper thickn ess lever When prin ting on en velopes or heavy paper, you need to adjust the paper thicknes s lever to compensate for the extra paper weight. 1. Make sure the print er is turned on. Then press the Pause button and open the cover.
4. Pul l th e paper out c arefull y. If it tear s, ma ke sur e you remove any remaining pieces. 5. If paper is caught in the paper eject area, gently pull it out of the pri nter. 6. Close the pr inter cover. 7. Tur n on the pr inter to m ove t he pri nt h eads to the corre ct positions.

D o not take th e used cartri dge apar t or try to refi ll it. w Warning: If ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water.
