1-1 Chapter 1 Introduction This document provides instruc tions and ex amples on how t o configure a s y stem c onsists of Rockwell ControlLogix PLC, an ICC ET H-1000 Gat eway, and Mitsubish i iQ PLC s y stem . An Example of the system configurat ion is shown in Fi gure 1 below.

3-1 Chapter 3 Connecting Devices to the Network The steps of configuring th e IP addresses of the ControlLo gix PLC system , the ICC ETH -1000 module, an d the PLC are doc umented in th is chapter. 3.1 Changing th e IP Address of the ControlL ogix System The minimum configuration of a ControlLogix syst em consists of a ControlLogix c hassis (e.
3-2 4. Right-Click on the ENBT M odule and se lect “Module C onfiguration” from the drop down list: 5. Under the “P ort Configur ation” tab, se lect the Net work Configurati on Type to be “Static”, and o ne can m odify the IP ad dress and the Ne twork Mask to the desired values.

3-6 3.3 Changing th e IP Address es of the iQ PLC Built-in Ethern et Port The f ollowing are steps to c hange the IP a ddress of the iQ PLC Built-in Ethernet Port: 1. Open the GX W orks2 on the C onfiguration PC a nd create a ne w pr oject for the appropriate CPU Module (e.
3-7 c. Click the Open Setting box and enter the first channel as MC Protocol with a proper Host Station Por t number (In th is example, the Port Number is set at Hex 5001) 3.
3-8 3.4 Configuring the External Eth ernet Mod ule in the iQ System W hen app lication requires, an externa l E thernet modul e c an be added to the syst em and comm unicating to the iQ CPU. This sect ion describes the co nfiguration of a QJ7 1E71-100 modu le to be used in the comm unication with a CLX through the ICC ETH-1000 gateway.
3-9 2. At the “Ethern et Operatio n Setting windo w”, one can config ure the IP addre ss of the Ethernet module. a. Set the Com munication Dat a Code to Binar y b. Check the “Enable Online Change” check box c. Select the “ Initial Tim ing” to be A lways wait f or OPEN (Com munication pos sible at ST OP time).
3-10 3. At the Net work Parameter Setting window, click “Open Setting” a nd op en the wind ow be low a nd enter the par ameters as shown: a. Configure the Host Station Port Num ber to matc h the C onnection Object port number configured in the ICC ET H-1000.
4-1 Chapter 4 ControlLogix PLC P roj ect Configuration The configuratio n s teps of a ControlL ogix pr oject are described this Chapter. T hese steps are us ed to comm unicate with an ICC ETH -1000 module. It is assum ed that the user has basic k nowledge in using RSLogix5000 software to perform the basic configurati on steps.
4-2 3. In the “Select Module” pop- up window, cho ose the “Com munications” 4. Then select th e proper m odule 1756 ENBT.
4-3 5. Then s elect the Major Revision level of the ENBT firm ware. In the Verification System, the m ajor revision le vel of the ENBT module is 2. 6. Enter th e proper Name, Slot Location, Revision Level and IP Addres s of the ENBT module. In the Verification System, the module nam e is set at CSC_EIP, the revision firm ware level is 2.
4-4 7. Click “O K” to accept t he configurat ion and m ake no add itional conf iguration changes to the “Connection” t ab. Sim ply click “OK” again to accept the configuration.

6-1 Chapter 6 Using EtherNe t/IP Explicit Messaging The ControlLogix PLC can com municate with the Mitsub ishi i Q PLC using E IP Explicit Messaging format through the ICC ETH-1000 gateway. The communication is accom plished throu gh the use of MSG instructions in RSLogix5 000.
