HARDWARE INSTALLATION Precautions: Please be sure yo u take ade quate anti -static precautions when ha ndlin g this product. The simplest way to achieve this is; touch a non-painted surface of the computer’s chassis during the hardware insta llation.
- 2 - SOFTWARE INSTALLATION Windows 98 Installation 1. Rebo ot the com puter system after the m odem is well inserted into the PCI slot of your computer. Windows 98 will automatically detect the device. Click Next to continu e. 2. Insert the device driver com pact disc into your CD-ROM drive when the following dialog box appears.
- 3 - 3. Select Specify a location and press Browse to choose the DirverWin98 folder in your CD-ROM drive. Then click Ne xt. 4. Clic k Next to c ontinue.
Windows 2000 Installation 1. Reboot the computer syst em after t he modem is well inserted into the PCI slot of your computer. Windows 2000 will automatically detect the new hardwa re device and pr ompt the fol lowing m essage. Click Next to conti nue 2.
- 5 - 5. Clic k Next . Windows 20 00 will start copying necessary files ont o your system. 6. Click Yes to contin ue. 7. Clic k Finish to complete the software installation. Windows ME Installation 1. Reboot the computer syst em after t he modem is well inserted into the PCI slot of your computer.

CHECKING COUNTRY/REGION Perform the following steps t o check the country/region settings for th e modem before using the Int ernal Fax M odem 56K. For the best performance, make sure t he country/regi on is selected to the country where y ou are using the device, e.
- 13 - UNINSTALL If you want to uninstall the driver of the Internal Fax Modem 56K after i nstallati on, perform the following steps. 1. Go to My Computer .
