10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch 2. Highlight the line Speed Option y ou want to select for the port. Auto allo ws the GigaSwitch to automatically determine the line speed and duplex mode. All the other selections force the GigaSwitch to use a specif ic line speed and duplex mode.

10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch V iewing VLAN Activities The follo wing procedure describes ho w to use the VLAN P erspective screen to view acti vities for a particular VLAN. Using this procedure, y ou can vie w: • Activ e por ts. • Acti ve MA C addresses associated with a VLAN .
10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch Scr olling Through Domains When the VLAN Domain screen is acti ve, y ou can use the Up Arro w and Do wn Arro w keys to scroll through the list of domains associated with the selected VLAN.
10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch T o select tagged por ts: • Highlight T a gged P orts and press Enter . The Select T ag ged P orts screen will appear , along with a list of the tagged ports. • T o select an indi vidual por t, highlight it and press Enter .
10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch 4. Use the Up Arr o w and Do wn Arro w k eys to scroll through the VLAN/IP Multicast Gr oup Membership screen. 5. When you f inish, press Esc until you return to the desired screen.
10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch Scr olling Through MA C Addr esses Use the follo wing procedure to scroll through the list of activ e MA C address- es cor responding to the selected port: 1. If the MA C Addr esses screen is not the cur rent screen, press the Ta b key until it appears.

10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch ARP T ABLE SETTINGS If you select ARP T ab le from the L3 IP Networking screen, an ARP T ab le screen similar to the follo wing will appear with the ARP tab le entries that ha ve already been def ined or lear ned. From this screen, y ou are able to: • Add static entries to the ARP table.
10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch Deleting Static ARP T able Entries If you no longer need a static entry in the ARP tab le, use the follo wing procedure to delete it. Since there is no precautionary message that appears before you delete a static ARP table entry , be sure you w ant to delete the entry before you begin.
10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch Pr otocol Indicates one of the follo wing: Local A manually conf igured routing entr y . NetMgmt A routing entry set via SNMP . ICMP A routing entry obtained via ICMP redirect. RIP A routing entry lear ned via the RIP protocol.

10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch PING SETTINGS If you select Ping from the IP Networ king screen, a Ping screen similar to the follo wing will appear , with the Host f ield highlighted. Use the follo wing procedure to change the ping settings: 1. Press Enter .
10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch BRIDGING If you select Bridging from the Advanced Management screen, the follo wing Bridging P ar ameters screen will appear . 1. T o change the aging time, highlight Aging T ime <seconds> and press Enter . The follo wing prompt will ask y ou to enter a bridge aging period , in seconds.
10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch From either of these screens, y ou are able to: • Hold do wn the Shift key and press the “ + ” key to add a specif ic MAC address to be f iltered. • Press the “ - ” (h yphen) key to delete a specif ic MAC address from being f il- tered.

10/100 Managed 24-Port GigaSwitch 11. T ype an IP address for trap host 1. The address consists of numbers separated by periods (e.g., 129.32.0.11). 12. Press Enter . The IP address y ou typed will appear next to T r ap Host 1 IP Addr ess . 13. T o specify up to tw o additional trap community names, repeat steps 10 through 12.
2. T o change the IGMP setting, highlight IGMP and press Enter . When the follo wing screen appears, highlight the desired setting and press Enter . 3.
