33 The lateral safety can be operated in cocked condition. The rifle is • safe, when the safety wing is at t he lef t stop so that t he „S“ (safe) is visible. • ready for shooting when the safety wing is at the right st op. 34 Bolt The ANSCHÜTZ bolt The ANSCHÜTZ bolt is designed to be ex- tra strong and reliable and is manufactur ed to the closest tolerances. Bolt and cam are lapped to assure v er y smooth operation. It has a double locking device. When the wing safety is in the down position both the firing pin and the bolt handle are locked.
35 Caution: •For rifles in cal. .222 Rem. depress the catch at the base of t he bolt handle as shown. •Hold bolt with safety up and remove safety with signal pin and spr ing as shown.
36 •Replace the sleeve and mak e sure t hat the slot in t he sleev e lines up with t he firing pin lug. •Replace the firing pin assembly and make sure that the lug lines up wit h the longer slot in the bolt body and t he bottom of the recess at the bolt handle as shown.
37 •Replace the safety with t he signal pin and spring and make sure that the safety wing lines up with the fir ing pin lug and that the signal pin is properly seated. •T urn t he bolt handle counter-clockwise and the wing safety cloc kwise as fas as they will go.
