User’s gui de 2-5 List-view The list-vi ew in the main w indow contains t hree elements: M y Inbox, My Shar ed Files, and a list of discov ered r emote devices. Wh en an item is s elected in the Bluetooth N eighborh ood, such as My Inbox or a r emote dev ice, the li st-view dis- plays th e cont ents o f that i te m.

When servic e discovery has been carried out on a re mote device, th e list-view w ill change to show the services facil itated by the rem ote device in question.

The list-vi ew settings can be chan ged as in oth er W ind ows list-view set tings; you can for i nstance change the si ze of the icons o r have the elements displa yed as a list.

User’s guide 2-15 Y ou can create as many device folde rs as you like, and you can include as many devices in ea ch folder as you like. Communicating with a device folder is do ne in exact ly the same wa y as with a single r emote devic e.

User’s guide 2-23 Receiving objec ts When your local Bluetooth d evice r eceives an ob ject (such as a default business card, mes sage, or note) fr om a remote device, the object is placed i n My Inbox. • If you have Microsoft Outlook, the object opens in Microsoft Outlook whe n you double-click it .

User’s guide 2-25 2. Click the object you wan t to create, such as a VMessage, VCar d, or VNote. Card s are cr eated in the Object Editor itself (by typing the i nformation you want t o include); mess ages and note s are cr eated in a new window , as shown in the follo wing illustra tion.

T o establish a lin k to a r em ote devic e, drag the Bluetooth COM port icon to th e remote device (or device folder ).
User’s guide 2-35 The LAN service pr ovides a ser ial Bluetooth COM port conn ection for your con- venience. This mea ns that you can choose to use it for access ing a LAN, but you could use any other Bluetooth COM port a s well.
