1 1 Introduction Welcome to the bright ne w world of HUAWEI MediaPa d 7 Youth (HUAWEI MediaP ad for short ). With HUAWEI MediaPad, you can: > Surf the Internet at lightening-fast speeds. > Take photos and record videos anytime anywh ere. > Enjoy the latest and hottest movies.
2 2 Getting Started HUAWEI MediaPad at a Glance > S7-701w does not have a rear camera. > S7 - 701w a nd S7 - 701wa do not have SIM card slo ts. Front camera Rear camera Speaker Power key Vo l u .
3 Installing the SIM and microSD Cards S7-701w and S7-701wa do not have SIM card slots. 1. Open the SIM and mi croSD card slot cover. 2. Insert the SIM card with its gold conta cts facing up, a s indicated in the preceding figure. Push t he card inward until it clicks into place.
4 4. Replace the card slo t cover. Do not remove the card slot co ver from the ta blet. To remove the microSD car d when HUAWEI MediaPad is powered on, access the Home screen, and to uch > Storage > Unmount SD card . Then open the microSD car d slot cover and gently push the microSD card.
5 > The time required to fully cha rge the battery depends on the ambient temperature and th e age of the bat tery. Powering On or Off Powering On Press and hold the power key until HUAWEI MediaPad vibrates.
6 Double-click : Touch the screen twice consecutively to zoom in. Touch and hold : Touch and hold the screen to display an options menu. Flick : Flick up or down to scroll up or down. Flick left or ri ght to swi tch between scree ns. Drag : Touch and hold an item to drag it to another position.
7 Unlocking the Screen HUAWEI MediaPad supports multiple screen unlock methods. The default unlock method is used here as an example to illustrate how t o unlock the screen. 1. Press the Power key to wake up the screen. 2. Drag to the right until it r eaches .

13 Editing Text 1. Touch a text field to display beside the cursor. 2. Drag to move the cursor. 3. Touch and hold the the text until and are displayed. 4. Drag and to select more or less text. 5. 14 Huawei Input Method 1 > When you type in lower case, touch to capitalize the next lett er to be entered. > When you type in lower case, touch and hold or double-tap to turn on caps l ock. 2 Enter numbers and symbols. 3 > Enter a space. > Touch and hold to choose another input method.

16 4 Customizing HUAWEI MediaPad Want to set your own photo as the wallpaper? Want to move your music player to th e Home screen so it is easier to find? Want to use the latest hit as your ringtone? Well then go ahead! Moving a Home Screen Item You can organize Home screen items as you see fit.
17 Adding Widgets to the Home Screen You can add widgets, such as the calendar, music pla yer, and weather clock to the Home screen . 1. Touch and hold a blank area on the Home screen. 2. From the displayed options menu, choose Widgets . 3. Touch and hold a widget and drag it to the desired position, and then r elease it.
18 Removing a Home Screen Item You can remove Home screen items you no longer want . Removing an applicati on icon uninstalls the corresponding application . 1. Touch and hold the item you want to delete until HUAWEI MediaPad vibrate s. 2. Drag the item to the trash icon, and then release it.
19 3. Touch . You can have up to six Home screens. Deleting a Home Screen You can delete a Home screen you no l onger want. Note that only blan k Home screens can be deleted. 1. Touch and hold a blank area on the blank Home screen. 2. From the displayed options menu, choose Thumbnails .
20 Customizing the Wallpaper You can set any desired photo as the wallpaper. 1. Touch and hold a blank area on the Home screen. 2. From the displayed options menu, choose Wallpapers .
21 Adjusting the Volume You can set the volume of the tones, multimedi a, alarms, and notificat ions. 1. From the Home screen, tou ch > Sound > Volume . 2. Drag the sliders to adjust the volumes. You can also use the volume keys to adjust the vol ume of running applications.
22 2. From the displayed options menu, choose Local music . 3. Touch the audio file you want, then OK . Adjusting the Screen Brightness HUAWEI MediaPad inco rporates a light se nsor that can automatically adjust the scree n brightness based on the ambient light.

24 5 Intern et Connectio n HUAWEI MediaPad brings you into a new age of wireless Internet surfi ng. Let's take a look at how this works. Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network You can connect HUAWEI MediaPad to a Wi-Fi network and access the Internet through the Wi-Fi network.
25 S7-701w and S7-701wa do not support data services. Using data services may incur charges. For details, co ntact your service provider. 1. From the Home screen, tou ch . 2. Under WIRELESS & NETWORKS , touch More … > Mobile networks . 3. Select the Data enabled check box.
26 4. Touch Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings > Configure Wi-Fi hotspot . Then follow the onscreen instructions to configure the SSID, password, and other set tings. You can then sear ch for HUAWEI MediaP ad's SSID from Wi-Fi enabled devices to access th e Wi-F i network set up by HUAWEI MediaPad.
27 6 Browser The browser lets you su rf the web and browse web pages. Stay on the ball with real-time news and informa tion using your browser. Staying connect ed and browsing the Internet has never been easier. Browsing Web Pages From the Home screen, to uch to launch the bro wser.
28 Downloading a File You can download files, images, and even applications from web pages. The downloaded files will be saved in your HUAWEI MediaPad's interna l memory or the microSD car d. For example, to downlo ad an image from a web page, touch and hold the i mage, and choose Save image fro m the displayed options menu.
29 Setting Your Home Page You can set any web page as the home page. 1. From the Home screen, tou ch to launch t he browser. 2. Select > Settings > General .
30 7 Sharing Data HUAWEI MediaPad allows you to share files in a n umber of ways. Sharing data anytime anywhe re means family and friends can share your exper i ences and are always by your side.
31 4. Choose the device with which you want to share the file. > If the desired device is not displayed, t ouch Other devices to enter the Wi-Fi Direct settin gs screen. Touch the desired device to connect to it. > If no Wi- Fi Direct co nnection has bee n set up, HUAWEI MediaPad displays the Wi-Fi Direct settings screen.

Clearing the Call Log To delete an entry from the call lo g, touch and hold the ent ry on the Phone screen, and choose Remove from call log from the displayed option s menu.

38 9 Contacts Forget about lu gging around business card holders. With HUAWEI MediaPad, you can store your family and fr iends' contact details ea sily. In addition, its improved import and export functions let you conveniently reco ver contacts on different devices.
39 If you have not set up the account you want t o synchronize with on HUAWEI MediaPa d, touch Add account from the Accounts & sync screen, and follow the onscreen instructions to set up the accoun t. After the account is set up, HUAWEI MediaPad auto matically synchronizes with it.
40 S7-701w and S7-701wa do not support this function. 1. From the Home screen, touch to display the contact list. 2. Touch > Manage contacts > Copy from SIM card . 3. Touch one contact to import that contact ind ividually or Select all to import all contacts to your phone.
41 Joining Contacts To avoid duplicate contacts, jo in two or more contacts together to form a single contact. You can join co ntacts stored in t he internal memory o nly, and not those st ored in the SIM card . 1. From the Home screen, touch to display the contact list.
42 Deleting a Contact 1. From the Home screen, touch to display the contact list. 2. Select the contact you want to delete. 3. Touch > Delete > OK . To delete multiple cont acts at a time, fr om the contact l ist, touch > Delete contacts , and select the contacts you want to delete.
43 Backing Up Contacts to a microSD Card You can back up your contacts to a microSD card in case your contacts are accidentally deleted or lost because of system upgrade.

53 Sharing Photos and Videos You can share photos and videos via Bluetooth, email, and more. 1. From the Home screen, tou ch to open the gallery. 2. Touch and hold the photo, video, or folder until is displayed at the top of the screen. 3. Touch , and choose how you want to share the selected file or folder, for examp le, using Bluet ooth or DLNA.
