14 Managing Folders on the Home Screen • To create a folder: Drag an application icon onto another application icon to creat e a new folder that contain s both icons. • To rename a folder: On the Home s creen, touch a folder, and t hen touch the folder name field beneath it.
15 2.8. 1 Moving Ic ons on t he Appl icat ion Scr een 1. On the application screen, touch . 2. Touch and hold the icon you want to move on the application screen. 3. Without lifting your finger, drag the ic on to the desired location , and then release it.
16 3 Calling To make a phone call, you can dial a number us ing the keypad or touch a number saved in your contact list, on a web page, or in other places. When yo u are in a call, you can answer other incoming c alls or redirect t hem to your voice mail.
17 3.1. 4 Using V oice Dial ing Calls can be placed us ing voice dialing. W hen you open the voice dialing app lication, your phone's speaker will be enab led. Background noise will affect the accuracy of voice dialing. 1. On the Home screen, touch > Voice Di aler .

You can also drag to the message icon to reject the ca ll and send a message to the caller. 3.3 Other Op erations During a Call 3.3.1 Making a Co nference Call If you receive a new call while you are already in a call, you can add t he second c all to the call you are in.
19 3.3. 2 Swit ching Be tween Cal ls If you receive a new ca ll while you are already in a ca ll, you can switch bet ween the two calls. 1. While you are in the first call and the s econd call comes in, answer the incoming call, and then touch . 2. The current call is placed on hold and you are connected to the first call.
20 4.3 Adding a Contact 1. In the contact list, touch . 2. From th e screen displ ayed, create a contact in your mobile phone, SIM ca rd or your account. Add a new a ccount if you do not have one. 3. Enter the contact's name, and then add de tailed information such as phon e numbers and address .
21 4.7 Communicati ng with Your Con tacts You can quick ly call or sen d a text (SMS) or multimedia (MMS) message to a contact's default phone number. You ca n also open details to view a list of all the w ays you can communicate with that contac t.

25 5.2 Choosing an Input Method 1. When the keyboard is displayed, the k eyboard icon is shown on t he notificati on bar. Flick the notification bar do wnwards to open the notification panel. 2. Touch Select input method . 3. Select the desired input method.
26 5.4 Editing Text To edit text quickly, to uch and hold the text you ha ve entered, and choose the conten t you want to edit. You c an then edit the text quic kly using icons in the upper right corner as follows: • : Select all content. • : Cut the selected c ontent.
27 6 Messaging The Messaging application allows you to ex change text mes sages (SMS) a nd multimedia messages (MMS) with anyo ne using an SMS-or-MMS-capable phone. 6.1 Opening Me ssaging On the Home screen, touch > Messaging to open the message application.
28 6.3 Creating and Sending a Multimedia Message You can use multimedia messages to make everyday communica t ions very spe cial. You can record a message and send it as an audio file, for example , sing "Happy Birthday" and send it to a friend, or send a slideshow of photographs of a special event.
29 6.4 Opening an d Viewing a Multi media Message 1. In the message list, touch the message thre ad you wish to view. 2. Touch the multimedia message to view the message. 6.5 Replying to a Message 1. In the message list, touch a text or multimedia message th read to open it.
30 7 Getting Connected 7.1 Mobile Netw orks Your mobile phone will be automatically configured to use your network operator's 2G/3G service (if av ailable) when you t urn on the phon e for the first time . Note that the SIM/UIM card must be inserted (so me CDMA mobile phones have an integrated UIM card and do not need a separat e UIM card) 7.

33 7.4 Controlling Data Usage With Data usage , you can set a data usa ge cycle and the mobile data limit for this period. You will be notified when dat a usage reaches the set limit. Yo u can also query the data usage within a cert ain period or by a certain applicati on.

A number of popular email provide rs are supported. You can work with the same emai l service that you use on y our PC or yo u can select another email ser vice.
38 8.5 Creating and Sending an Email Message 1. On the Inbox screen, touch . 2. In the To field, enter the recipient's name or email address. 3. Enter the subject of your message and c ompose the message. To send an attachment with the message , touch .
