Inst alli ng the st and To insta ll the stand: 1. Turn un it upside down. 2. Locate the slots on t he bottom o f the unit into whic h the tab s on the stand fit. 3. Insert the tab s into the slot s (1), and then slide the stand ab out 1/2–inc h toward th e back of th e unit until it lock s into pla ce (2).

2 Hardware changes General hardware install ation sequence To ensure the pr oper insta llation t hin client ha rdware compo nents: 1. Back up any d ata, i f nece ssary. 2. If the thin client i s powered o n: a. Turn the u nit an d any oth er attach ed devices off.

Installin g USB device s in the secure US B compar tment The secure USB compa rtment allo ws you to i nstall two US B devices i n a secure location i nside of th e thin cl ient. Alo ng wit h providin g a hidde n locatio n, the se cure USB c ompartment can b e locked b y the opti onal securi ty c able lock.

Replaci ng the battery Before beginnin g the re placement process , review G eneral h ardware inst allati on sequence for proced ures you should follow before an d after insta lling or re placing hardw are. To repla ce the battery : 1. Remove the sid e access panel and me tal side cov er 2.

Locate the battery on the system board. 2. Pull bac k on the clip (1) that is holding the battery in pla ce, and th en remov e the bat tery (2).

4 Security provisions Securing the thin client The HP Compaq t5135/t5530 thin client is des igned to a ccept a se curity cable lo ck. This cable loc k preve nts unauthor ized remov al of the thin client , as well as locking the sec ure compa rtment. To order this op tion, visit the HP Web site at http:// h30143 .
5 Mounting the thin client HP Quick Release The HP Co mpaq t 5135/t5530 thin client incorpora tes four mo unting poi nts on ea ch side of the unit. These mounting points foll ow the VESA (Video Electr.
To use the HP Qu ick Release with a VESA-con figured thin client: 1. Using four 10 mm screws in cluded in t he mou nting devic e kit, at tach one side of th e HP Quic k Release to the thin client as shown in the f ollowing il lustrati on. Grounding me thods There are several methods fo r groundi ng. Use one or more of the following me thods when han dling or instal ling elec trostatic- sensitive parts: ● Use a wri st strap co nnected by a g round c ord to a grounded Thin Clien t chassis .
8 Shipping information Shipping prepara tion Follo w these sugg estions when prep aring to ship th e thin c lient: 1. Turn off the thin client and exter nal dev ices. 2. Disconne ct the pow er cord from the electr ical out let, then f rom the thi n client.
