Installing the Battery Pa ck Dolphin 7800 model terminals are desi gned for use with standard battery pack model 7800-BTSC (Li-ion 3.7 V, 8.9 watt hour) and extended battery pack models 7800-BTXC and 7800-BTXCW (Li-ion 3.7 V, 14.8 watt hour) manufactured for Honeywell International Inc.
Charging the Dolphin Dolphin terminals ship with the batte ry significantly discharged of power. Charge the battery with a Dolphin char ging device for a minimum of 4 hours for the standard battery and 6 hours for the extended battery.
HomeBase LED Indicators Charging/Comm unication Cable (Model 7800-USB) Use only a UL Listed power supply, which has been qualified by Hone ywell with output rated at 5VDC and 3A with the device. Red The HomeBase has power b ut no terminal is docked. Green The HomeBase has power and the terminal is properly seated in the base.
Suspend Mode Suspend Mode turns the touch screen off and locks the terminal. To save battery power, the terminal enters Sus pend Mode when the device is inactive for a programmed period of time. To adjust the timeout limit, tap the Apps Launcher > Settings > Display > Screen Timeout .
Installing the SIM Card and/or Replacing the Memory Car d Note: To prevent possible data corruption, you should unmount the microSD card before removing the card from the terminal. To unmount the card, tap the Apps Launcher > Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card .
7. Lift the latch and remove the memory card. 8. Insert the new microSD or microSDHC card. Note: To avoid application errors or possible data loss, do not operate the device without a memory card installed. Contact a Honeywell sales representative for additional informa tion on qualified memory card options.

Modifier Ke ys Function Ke ys Key Function or The blue and red keys are used in combination with other keys to type special characte rs and perform system func- tions. The keyboard is color-coded to indicate the character typed or function performed when specific keys are pressed immediately after the blue or red modifier key.
Home Screen Per sonaliz e the Home Screen Personalize the five Home screen panels for quick access to apps, folders, and menus. To add an item: 1. Tap and hold an empty sp ot on the Home screen. 2. Select the type of item (e.g., shortcut, widget, folder, or wallpaper).
To remove/delete an item: 1. Tap and hold the item. 2. When the unit vibrates, drag the item to the at the bottom of the screen. To move an item: 1. Tap and hold the item. 2. When the unit vibrates, drag the item to the new location, then release. Note: The next panel automatically opens if you drag the item to the edge of the touch screen.
Aiming Beam The aiming beam is narrower when you hol d the terminal closer to a bar code and the aiming beam is wider when you hold it farther from the bar code. The aiming beam must be aimed closer to symbologies that have smaller bars or elements (mil size).
Resetting the T erminal There are two types of system resets: a har d reset or a factory reset. The hard reset preserves all data stored in the file system. Contact a Honeywell technical support representative for mo re information on how to perform a factory reset.
