1 USER'S MANUAL Thank you very much for purchasing the HIT ACHI Plasma Display . Before using your monitor , please carefully read the "SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS" and this "USER'S MANUAL" so you will know how to operate the monitor properly .
2 Important Please read this User's Manual thor oughly , especially the Safety Instructions on Page 4 to 7. Mis-use may cause damage to your plasma monitor , which could shorten its lifespan, or cause injury to yourself.

4 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS About the Symbols This Plasma monitor has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards, but like any electrical equipmen t, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and safety is to be assured.
5 W ARNING Be cautious of the power cord connection. Incorrect connection of the power cor d could result in fir e or electrical shock. • Do not touch the power cord with a wet hand. • Check that the connecting portion of the power cor d is clean (with no dust), befor e using.
6 CAUTION PRECAUTIONS Be careful in moving the monitor . Neglect could result in an injury or damage. • Do not move the monitor during use. Before moving, disconnect the power plug and all external connections. • Y ou ar e advised to move the monitor with two persons.
7 Prevention of an obstacle to Radio r eceivers This monitor has been designed pursuant to the international EMI standards. This is to prevent a pr oblem to Radio receivers. • Keep the monitor away from Radio. • Adjust Radio antennas in order for the monitor not to r eceive interference.
8 IMAGE RETENTION OF PLASMA DISPLA Y There are different characteristics that result in panel image retention depending on how the plasma display is used.

11 Dynamic Natural Cinema Movie Music Favourite Speech PICTURE MODE Y ou may recall the pictur e mode by pressing this button. Each time pr essed, picture mode is changed in following sequence. INPUT SELECT Press this button to change input mode. DVD CONTROL Y ou can use these buttons to operate the selected brand of DVD player .
• In order to pr event an internal temperature increase, maintain a space of 10cm (4 inches : For a desktop set-up) or more between the sides and other objects such as walls, etc., so that the ventilation holes are not blocked.(*) CA UTION 12 INST ALLA TION INSTRUCTIONS Installation Use one of the special mount units to install this product.
13 Connecting to an Audio V isual Device (1) Make sure that the power switch of the monitor is turned off. (2) Make sure that the power switch of the audio visual device is turned off.
14 Precautions when connecting the antenna • Please use a coaxial cable which is free fr om interference to connect the antenna. Avoid using a parallel flat feeder wir e as interference may occur , causing r eception to be unstable and stripe noise to appear on the screen.
15 Connecting to a PC (1) Make sure that the display signal of the personal computer to be used is compatible with the specifications of this device. • See “PRODUCT SPECIFICA TIONS” concerning the specifications of this device. . (2) Make sure that the power switch of the personal computer is turned off.
16 Mounting the Speaker Unit INST ALLA TION INSTRUCTIONS (continued) Make sure that the main power switch of the monitor is turned off (standby mode or the indicating lamp: of f/red) when r emoving or connecting the speaker cables. CA UTION Make sure to use the speaker systems fastened with the speaker holders and the screws.

21 BASIC OPERA TION (continued) INPUT SELECT button CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons Input Switching Size Switching • Input can be switched by pressing the A V1~5, RGB1 or RGB2 buttons of the remote control. • Input can be switched to TV by pressing CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons or PROGRAMME SELECT buttons.
22 V er tical picture position can be adjusted for [Panoramic], [Zoom] , [C14:9L] and [14:9Zoom] mode as follows. 1. Press SIZE button and button during picture size display . 2. Position display will appear . 3. Adjustment range of each picture size ar e as shown below .
23 Audio Mute V olume Adjustment The audio volume can be temporarily muted by pressing the MUTE button of the remote control. The volume can be adjusted by pressing the and buttons of the remote control (or the and volume buttons of the monitor unit).
24 Power Swivel • This feature contr ols the motorized stand. It allows turning the plasma display left or right using the remote control. Make sure that the main power switch of the monitor is turned off when r emoving or connecting the power cord, the connector cables, and the speaker cables.
25 Input Signal Scr een Display The input signal status can be displayed on the screen by pressing the RECALL button of the remote control. • The displays in TV/Video/RGB mode will go out in appr oximately 6 seconds. • The display in DTT mode will also appear as changing the channels and go out in approximately 60 seconds.
26 Displaying MUL TI PICTURE If the MUL TI PICTURE button on the remote control is pressed, multi pictures will display . And then three types of the screen can be selected by pressing the MUL TI MODE button on the remote control. The multi picture mode will change in the following sequence each time the MUL TI MODE button is pressed.
27 Activating the Split mode from the video input screen Pressing the MUL TI PICTURE button once will display 2 pictures. • The speaker icon can be shifted left and right by pressing the and button. The audio of the video will be output from the side on which the speaker icon is located.
28 FREEZE button Pictur e Fr eezing When the FREEZE button on the remote control is pressed, the screen transfers into the freeze mode. • There ar e two types of freezing scr een mode, Split and Strobe. These ar e possible to select at the “Freeze Mode” setting of the Function Menu.

30 Installing the Channels Initial T uning When you turn the power on for the first time, it will be in the DTT mode. The first menu screen asks you to start “automatic search” to tune in the channels. The dialogue box appears as shown. Press “Y es” to start automatic search.

33 Digital T eletext T eletext can provide various information with text on the screen. • Press to access. Press it again to r eturn to the normal screen. • Y ou can also access to T eletext screen by pr essing RED button, depending on the programme being br oadcast.
34 Electronic Pr ogramme Guide (EPG) Like the Channel Lists, the EPG screen displays a list of the stor ed channels along with information on what programmes are being br oadcast.
